Cerberus+1 is a viable choice in pvp. In pve it isn't much stronger than other autorifles unless you shove it down your enemies throat before you start firing. The spread is just too inconsistent to hit crits even at medium range. If it had tighter bullet spread then it would be fantastic in most situations.

But for taking out the trash mobs, hitting crits isn’t even a secondary concern with that gun.

Depends on the situation. If you're doing high end pve content where the mobs take a lot more damage, you just want to aim for the crit spot because at some points they can be actual threats. In any other pve you can use literally anything and be fine. I'm not trying to hate on cerby, it's one of my favorite guns, but it's just not ideal when it takes up your exotic slot when you have autos like breakneck thats basically a purple exotic.

Fair point. I take Breakneck all day over Cerberus when I’m being serious.... but I just don’t remember a time when tact wasn’t at issue where Cerebus didn’t tear through anything and everything in front of me. But I’ve never taken him into the menagerie, for example (then again, breakneck doesn’t help me much there either...).

Yeah, right now you're better off taking something with a higher ttk and something that can hit multiple enemies like a grenade launcher. Sometimes I even rock the ikelos smg with lunafaction so I don't have to reload it. Usually tears through clumped up enemies
