I know that I'll get a lot of hate for what I'm about to say, but I also know I can't be the only one who feels this way. When it was announced 2+ years ago that Destiny 2 was going to be available on PC, I was immediately worried, because I knew that many of the online buddies I had made over the years playing Destiny 1 would switch over to PC. My fears were justified, as many of them did. In the early days of Destiny 2 I bounced around from Clan to Clan, trying to find the right group of players that I felt comfortable with. I got lucky, I found that group. Slain By The Architects has an excellent core group of players. If you play on PS4, and are looking for great group, I would recommend looking them up. Moving on to the pressing issue of concern. In June or so, when Bungie announced they were ending their partnership with Activision, nearly everyone was excited for what that meant for the future. Then came the announcement that Cross-Save was coming. I knew immediately what that meant, that the steady drum beat of, "switch to PC, it's so much better there" and "I switched to PC, it's so much better", would start up again with a vengeance. I have never been a PC player, I've given PC a chance on multiple occasions with friends who have access to proper gaming PCs, with Mouse and Key Board, which no matter how much time I put in, I never became proficient at, just doesn't become natural feeling for me, and also given a chance with controller. To me, I prefer the experience on my console, PS4. I've watched other people play Destiny 2 on PC, and the differences, while definitely present, to me, are not so great that I understand why so many people leave where they started. There are many of us who are frustrated by and tired of hearing about people switching to PC and raving about how great it is. Good for you all. Why do you feel the need to push your switch on the rest of us. Many of us don't care, we have no intention of making the switch. Doesn't seem to matter where I go, watching videos about Shadowkeep on YouTube, reading about various topics on this site, or Reddit, watching streamers on Twitch, etc, inevitably, at some point, there has to be the oh so maddening shout out, "PC is great, I switched, it's where I'll be making my content from now on, or it's where I'll be starting over", blah blah blah blah blah. On one hand, I'm happy that PC main players were given the opportunity to play, that with PC being brought into the mix, it allowed the overall player base to expand. On the other hand, myself and many other console players, there have been a lot of moments, and they are becoming more numerous as time goes on, that we wish PC wouldn't have been brought into the mix, period. When even Bungie employees feel that need to give special shout-out's to PC players and those who "made the switch", it's become a sick joke. Console players are not a second class of gamers. We are not in need of being led to an imagined promise land. Stop mentioning PC greatness all the time, stop talking about having made the switch. So many of the rest of us don't give a shit, and it's become a sad joke at this point. Why can't everyone enjoy playing on the medium they enjoy, without living in a constant state of waiting for the other shoe to dropped on us at every opportunity. There doesn't need to be a mention of PC specifically in nearly every video, nearly every post, nearly every article. There does not need to be the constant plug in push to make console players feel like we are lesser than, that we are missing out on something so vastly different. I know for many PC players whether from the start or those that switched, it's not what you intend when you bring up your PC experience, you aren't trying to drag down on console players, or make us feel like a lesser subset. I know that is not what most intend. But the thing is, for many of us, myself included, that has become what it is more and more feeling like is being done. It starts to wear down many of us, make us feel like we don't equally matter. PC is great, for those that love PC. Not all of us do though. There are those that no matter how much time we put in, it never became second nature, especially with Mouse and Keyboard, but for many of us, even with a controller. There are those of us that didn't grow up playing games on PC, that didn't have a circle of friends who all played on PC. PC is often an expensive gaming medium, an expense that many of us can't afford. I know many won't understand, but I know I'm not alone in coming to feel the way I do. I wish PC players could respect that what gaming medium they are playing on doesn't need to constantly be brought up. Unless you're looking for a group of other players to play with, it really doesn't constantly need to be vocalized.
