Bungie knows they can get away with this because gamers have been allowing EVERYONE in the gaming industry to get away with this for a number of years now. You can’t beat this. It’s pretty standard and given the gaming industry continues to make money hand over fist, it’s pretty apparent the majority of players are ok spending extra money. You’re not going to convince anyone not to buy Shadowkeep and the cosmetics that cost extra on top of it sadly.

I can tell you right now that mission of yours will fail despite i agree 100% that players ideas/feedback should matter we will always throw money at the screen even if we dont agree 100% with bungie's decisions. Even if i quit other will overpay and give money and compensate my decision anyway.

I wouldn’t presume to tell you cosmetics shouldn’t matter to you; don’t presume to tell me they should matter to me. I’m not playing dress-up Barbie. I’m playing a looter shooter, and for me specifically, the only loot that matters is that which makes me stronger. Shaders, fancy armor, sparrows... none of that ever killed a boss. Just sayin’.

You also seem to have a strange saltiness about it too, like how dare someone suggest we don't buy cosmetics (which you wouldn't anyway because you don't care about them). Bizarre

Really? Dress up barbie? Quite possibly the dumbest thing I’ve heard said on the forums, and I’ve been here a while. Cosmetics mean a lot in a game about farming for loot. In fact it’s the reason you like farm for loot in the first place, for the way it looks. If you didn’t then you’d probably just stick to the starting armor and weapons. Why grind for scout rifle A over scout rifle B? Likely because of looks since it will work the exact same. Keep claiming your not playing dress up barbie while at the same time you likely picked out everything your characters are wearing because of the way they looked.

whuh-whuh-whuh-WHAT?! The only reason you go for a gun is the way it LOOKS?! I’m not telling you to not like cosmetics. Like them all you want. It doesn’t matter to me at all how much time you spend just getting the right shade to go with that armor, or how long it took you to get the right weapons to accent the ensemble. Play it how you want. I’m saying, plainly, the fashion show stuff isn’t why I play. I want powerful stuff, and I don’t really care how it looks. I care more about how well I can see around and through a gun sight than what people will think when they see me walking around the tower. We clearly play the game for different reasons, and it’s great we can, but I’ll restate the obvious - I won’t tell you to not embrace the importance of cosmetics to you if you don’t tell me to embrace the importance of cosmetics to you.

The sight is part of how a gun looks, so saying you care about the sight but don’t care about cosmetics is stupid, since the sight is part of the cosmetic. And yes, I do mostly go after weapons for looks. At least half of the weapons in this game are nearly identical to other weapons in every way except the way they look, so when choosing between (for example) 150rpm scout rifle A and 150rpm scout rifle B, if they have similar perks then I will choose whichever I like the look of more, and I call bullshit if you claim you don’t do the same.
