It's been a hard adjustment for me aesthetics-wise looking at these new Dusk fallen compared to the old designs. To me, the armor looked way more tribal and way less practical (no bodysuits means no ability to spacewalk. also no pants?!) and while it did make sense in that they were starving for resources and used what they could find, their armor doesnt look nearly haphazard enough to convey that.
And then i thought of something. How do the Fallen manufacture their armor and weapons?
Dusk armor still has a very intentional construction and the designs of the plating look too different from D1 to just be salvaged from old Fallen armor. This must indicate alot of the Dusk armor was made later on, during or after the Red Legion attack. So the Fallen must still have a source of manufacturing somewhere, we just dont know where.
On a broader note, i always wondered how Fallen get the rounded shapes in their weapons, ships, and armor. If you look closely at the Queenbreaker's outer shell, it doesnt appear to be metallic in nature. So whats it made from? My current running theory is that the plating on Fallen weapons and vehicles is some form of plasteel, and Servitors are the ones who handle manufacturing. I mean, Servitors can fly and they seem to not need food or rest. They could have some form of transmat tech to "3D-print" items.
If my theory is totally wrong, please let me know in the comments. I would very much like to discuss this topic.

The lore reason for that is of course that the old houses piled up all their old house related gear and burned it, which was really rather stupid when they could have just painted it purple. You raise a good question, because between D1 and D2 the fallen completely rebuilt and replaced their armaments.

I've always thought they don't make new stuff just repair what they brought with them into our solar system. If some one dies some one else uses their gear. They do scavenge a lot, I doubt it's just Earths golden age tech they probably scavenge from them selves too. The boss in the Black Armory Raid was using a forge to make stuff though.

1 답변They probably contain facilities for Gear making and repairs on their arsenal Ketches as they seem to have no places to set up a weapon factory that wouldn't just be destroyed by the City. The reason that they have three different kinds of ketches would make sense in this case. -Ether Ketches are Command ships that house the Prime Servitor and Archons -Arsenal Ketches supply the main firepower in ship to ship combat and create weapons for the other crews -Glimmer Ketches carry all the loot and materials that the other two Ketches need to function as a unit. There could still be a final type of ketch that's used for scouting too but being realistic they probably just use Skiff Crews for recon. The real question to me is who made shanks and who decided to give them wire rifle variants.

1 답변I imagine they just jury-rig whatever they find and keep what doesn't blow up immediately afterwords. IIRC I think our Ghost points out that the Fallen aren't too bright on improvised explosives.

3 답변They have Fallen that are instinctually born knowing how to craft weapons vehicles, and armor. They're called MechBoyz.

Splicers make tech it was revealed in rise of iron all fallen have splicers to make new gear I think archons or the captains under them make the gear to be spread by spider or kept in their own group hence why spider is a kingpin in the tangled shore

1 답변작성자: Grays_KS27 8/28/2019 12:19:18 AMDefinitely interesting to think about. We know that Servitors don’t play any role in Fallen metalworking or craftsmanship or any of that. They are used for Ether production, interstellar navigation, and other thinks such as information storage and even signal jamming. The Fallen are excellent mechanics, handling many forms of machinery and metals. They could easily weld and craft new armor from old and leftover materials, and they previously had such a huge population that there is probably no shortage of armor and weaponry (along with the massive amount of salvage leftover from Humanity’s Collapse). Weapons like the Shrapnel Launcher are simple and easy to make, though the rarity of Scorch Cannons and Variks bribing Cayde with a weapon hinted that some of their weapons may not be so easy to make. The Scorn used shoddy weaponry made from scraps. The Kell’s Scourge and Devil Splicers used Earth technology to create and modify new weapons and equipment. Some weapons use exotic metals (the metal rod fired from a Wire Rifle, for example), most likely from the Eliksni home world, so they must be slowly running out of supply of some materials (though they could have an abundance of these materials that they can scrap from any of their destroyed equipment), but they could potentially find earthly replacements.
