I can say that over time, I've been conditioned to disregard the "you're either this or that" talking point. I've learned to disregard that talking point because that kind of rhetoric is 100% guaranteed to not bring anything of substance or value to the discussion or topic at hand. It's better to view things as a spectrum. I use that model for pretty much everything in my life because it perfectly explains why some of my family members view themselves as Republican, while others view themselves as Democrats. In other cases not revolving around politics, the spectrum model perfectly explains why I can differentiate between myself back when I was a kid-teenager to what I am now, to name one example.

I was called “anti-glock” for shooting a Sig at a pistol comp once. I mean really! Anti-glock? Over half of my guns are glocks!

Trump doubled down on his comment saying "only weak people would say anything other than that.” He also shared a tweet from some nutjob who thinks crazy things like the Las Vegas shooting was really carried out by ISIS and blamed it on a white guy to demonize them....who said Trump was like the King of Israel and the 2nd coming..... I think he's really starting to lose his grip on reality.
