I've started a petition to have Bungie reconsider their policy of banning accounts of people running Destiny 2 on Linux with Wine. You have probably seen links to this on the bungie forums, and reddit etc.
The petition now has over 400 signatures. I would like to receive an official response from Bungie on this.
Why are Linux users banned? Will this policy be changed?
I've read the Account Restrictions and banning policy. I'm aware that you state Windows is a requirement. Windows is a requirement for almost 100% of PC games yet I know of no other that is so aggressive at banning its customers.
As you're moving to the Steam platform, Steam Play is an official tool for running Windows games on Linux. Will you have a warning on your Steam store page that anyone attempting to use Steam Play will be irreversibly banned? There is no such warning there as yet.

2 답변wine allows to create cheat by accessing memory and hence game data (aimbot etc..) . so i hope they ban this until they support a linux port.

5 답변There's a reason something as popular as Fortnite doesn't have official Linux support. Neither does Black Ops 4, Battlefield V etc. If it was profitable, EA, Epic, and Activision would have done it already. Too few players, and too high of a security risk.

5 답변It just doesn't make any sense to ban people who are using linux. Linux is basically the same as windows, but linux is much more secure and can be much more complicated to deal with. Some people prefer linux over windows, which it totally fine, and now that destiny is going to steam, and steam supports linux, they should be reconsidering their policy about windows only. There is nothing wrong from using linux. Totally unfair. Am replaying to this just so anyone can see this and consider it.
