With the current model there are too many powerful reward sources/activities which makes doing all of them nigh impossible while also making it too easy to level up. For example: [b]Current Powerful Reward Sources:[/b] 1. Flashpoint 2. Daily Heroic Adventure 3. Crucible Weekly 4. Crucible Daily 5. Gambit Weekly 6. Gambit Daily 7. Gambit Prime Weekly 8. Reckoning Weekly 10. Dreaming City Weekly Mission 11. Ascendant Challenge 12. Blind Well 13. Dreaming City Weekly Bounty Milestone 14. Spider's Bounty 15. Ikora's Bounty Milestone 16. Weekly Clan Milestone/Engrams 17. Gambit/Prime Weekly Bounties 18. Ada-1 Weapon Frames 19. Ada-1 Milestone 20. Benedict Milestone 21. Benedict Bounties 22. The Menagerie 23. Last Wish, Scourge, and Crown of Sorrow 24. Raid Challenge Bounties 25. Shattered Throne 26. Crucible Valor Rank-Ups 27. The Nightfall (+100k) 28. Weekly Heroic Story Missions 29. Strike Daily 30. Strike Weekly 31. Prime Engrams 32. Glory Rank Up 33. Iron Banner And that isn't even considering the fact that a bunch of these activities have multiple powerful reward drops. I'd guess there's over 50, and that's just one character.

    That has nothing to do with what OP mentioned. The way I understood that paragraph is that Bungie will launch an annual pass in this way (for the sake of example I'm using the present annual pass names): 1 - They launch Black Armory season for 3 months; 2 - After 3 months they launch Drifter season for another 3 months BUT Black Armory is COMPLETELY REMOVED from Destiny; 3 - Another 3 months later they launch Opulence season for more 3 months AND Drifter is also COMPLETELY REMOVED from Destiny; This is renting content and I don't feel like paying for renting a game. Again, that's what I understood from that paragraph from Luke Smith but I may be wrong (and I really hope I am).

  • Except they said the rewards from previous seasons would be added from different sources later on. Removing activities lets them curate the amount of powerful reward sources and stops the game from bloating (like it is now.)

I'd guess there's over 50, and that's just one character.[/quote] I only think this is a bad in a memory capacity destroying type of way. Not so worried about the access to powerful rewards per se. I think something that we lose track of around here is what the game looks like to outsiders. I challenge any of you to try to turn a new completely unexposed player to Destiny and see what kind of reaction you get.

  • OP was asking why content is now being removed after it's respective season. My response explains why they're doing it; because there's too much stuff to do now and it's too easy to hit max power.

  • There is a balance between letting people play what they want to play while still gaining power and making it far too easy to level. Right now it is far too easy to level.
