Solstice is a flop
Edit: flop is a strong word. If I hadn’t used it my post wouldn’t be trending, but it’s probably not fair to call it a flop. Catch-22, I suppose.
I played more before this event went live then I do now.
I’m just so turned off by the unimaginative, boring “grind” and the lack of rewards.
EAZ was wasted and this event was a flop because it’s just a cash grab. The armor is okay and I’m glad I’ll have a new armor 2.0 set, but overall this is just a huge disappointment.
I don’t care if people support the cash shop, and frankly I don’t care if Bungie needs this money to stay in business (this is a -blam!-ing joke... no way this is true).
Not putting any of the solstice rewards in the packages is just... greedy and makes D2 feel like a mobile game. Maybe if some unique Solstice weapons were in the packages there would be some balance between integrity and greed here, but that’s not what we got.
I started playing Anthem because their free event is actually fun and rewarding. Let that sink in. Anthem still isn’t even a full game, so I’m not saying it’s better than D2, but Jesus... at least that sinking ship gave its fans a nice event and not a piece of shit Eververse greedfest.

4 답변I’ve said it elsewhere, The Dawning 2018 was a much better event. -Gift packages that give you an event exclusive machine gun with random rolls, with high chances of enhancement cores. -The materials needed to get the gifts can be obtained from any PVE activity -Event engrams every level. The engrams make it easy to get a full set of the event armor, the event ship and ghost shells. -The event sparrow is a grind, but not one you have to go out of your way to do limited activities to get an upgrade. The only thing I felt Dawning 2018 was missing was snow balls in strikes. But other than that it was a fun, rewarding event.

I actually liked the event and grinded all three characters. My initial thoughts were not positive and I still feel some part of the event was not fun and simply boring, especially the 25 patrols. Patrols are just so dull and doing 75 of them is not what I consider fun. But on the other side, I mostly had fun and got lots of materials and armor pieces and even couple of missing guns from gambit prime and 2 catalysts. I know by reading the forums that I belong likely to minority with this opinion and ot would have more potential to deliver it. On the other hand it was free event, so..

I stopped grinding before I finished green armor on 1 character. Deleted it all and will wait until around November to see if Shadowkeep is worth buying. Given Bungo's track record I'm going to guess it won't be worth spending one more penny on this game until sometime around August 2020.

3 답변Anthem is broke like hell. Solstice event was good. HELL, ive got over 85 Enchancement Cores. Armour is good. What u expecting??? New weapons??? Not likely cause of Shadowkeep. Its meant to be a Celebration. But u still meant to put sone effort in. Ive done all 3 characters. Only annoying things were for me were the 100 minibosses. If it werent for the cabal engineers id have given up. Love the EAZ. It make a good Gambit Map. And Actually when u get all the majestic armour done. There is a chance of getting them again through packages but worthless. EAZ isnt wasted at all. Only thing is worse is the GLOWS COST A BOMB. I would need 15,000 bright dust for one of each.

2 답변I agree. Last years Solstice was different. It had a completely different tone and feeling that felt new and wanted people to come back. Something about this years feels lack luster and not as enjoyable.

3 답변I didn't even touch this entire cancerous event. I want Bungie to know that shit like this is why I'm not buying Shadowkeep. I just wanted to have a nice event, not a -blam!-load of chores to do in order to get some shiny armor and waste my Bright Dust on stupid armor glows. At least we got the Scooty Puff Jr.

Yeah I've decided to take this end of cycle time to put Destiny down and play some backlogged games I missed out on because I've been playing this game far too much. Now that my gaming time is 25% of what it used to be with a kid running around I need to pick and choose what I play when I get too. This game is losing my interest quickly right now and it all started with the nerfs to super regen, followed by the chalice nerf and finalized by the insanely boring long grind for the solstice armor. Quickly realizing I'm not enjoying the game as much as I did at the beginning of Forsaken. The 3 seasons were meh for the most part, we never got a proper conclusion to the Forsaken story line and Eververse is ruining this game.

1 답변Oddly enough, it isn't a flop. The amount of people I've seen sporting full Majestic armor is proof. Once you get the armor, there is little to do regarding the Solstice besides run the EAZ for shits and giggles. Plus, the EAZ is a good way to mindlessly kill stuff without the worry of failure. People need to lighten up.

This grind is pretty boring. I’m taking a break till shawdowkeep since I’m hella bored at this point. I got to rare armor and that’s about it since. The game just has its ons and offs and I’m my opinion this is not a fun period for me in destiny

Hey there, i agree with you on the packages/eververse cash grab. Its crazy to think that almost all of the cosmetic opulence & solstice cosmetics are locked behind a paywall that you basically need more than $10 bucks to buy something. Although this could be a side effect of bungo going solo ya know? Im at a crossroads when it comes to destiny 2 rn. I just hope shadowkeep doesn’t feel like this.

If there are people in this comunity who are ready to grind old boring shit 5 hours daily to get one legendary set of armor and then the same people proceed to defend this cash grab on forums then bungie will keep doing these trash events

10 답변You dont have to spend a dime on solstice mate. Not a fan of solstice myself so just did one armor set for tge triumph. Got a glow. Havent spent a dime. Now playing Fire Emblem. Relax, go outside.

I disagree it wasn’t a flop or a disappointment but it could of been done better in several ways. I fully master worked a set on my Warlock and I’m now doing blues on the Hunter. I like the armor and I want to have 2.0 sets when the DLC drops. I’m not sure I’ll be doing my Titan though. Depends on how much time I have left after finishing up on my Hunter.
