I’ve made this post before and I’ll keep making it.

Destiny’s Crucible needs Skill Based Matchmaking. Period. The slow Matchmaking times can be Improved. All the flaws of the System can be Fixed and Improved. Highly Skilled Players NEED to be Matched with their own kind and Low Skilled Player be matched with their own kind etc. it works in other games, it’ll work in here. Enough with letting high Skilled Players pubstomping the little guys cause not only is it unfair but it is highly discouraging. But Skilled Based Matchmaking would not only make Crucible more Balanced, but it’ll make it fun for the little guys. Cause the way are now make Competitive nothing but Cancer and frustrating as horse shit.

  • No, I want to improve and if I don't get bodied from time to time I'd just build up bad habits. I like to have those moments where you know in the match you have a nemesis to beat while no one else matters. For competitive sure, quickplay no.

    • If you’ve made this post so many times, it’s impressive you’ve managed to literally ignore everyone telling you you’re wrong. Quickplay. Has. Connection based matchmaking. CBMM. In order to grant the smoothest Gameplay experience. Skill level is still taken into account, but not weighted as heavily as connection. If pure SBMM was a thing, you’d be matched with people pinging all over the map and teleporting behind you. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather get my teeth kicked in fair and square by a team that has the skills rather than try to get a bead on a guy who’s teleporting 5 feet in every direction and running into walls. Comp has Glory based matchmaking, a system that also works just fine.

      It would make every game laggy and every game sweaty. For everyone. It was widely disliked by people man. Me included. Because of what is current I get in matches now and vastly improve my gun game facing people better than me. I fought toe to toe with a 3 stack. One of them had NF/dusk rock and 172 shaxx medals. I fought him on equal footing with antiope and beloved. Even out dueled him quite a few times. And he me. The match ended with him at the top of his team and me at the top of mine. We were damn equal. I sent him a gg.

      So the bottom 30% get to have fun in qp while the rest suffer sweaty lagfests? I played D1Y2 and D2Y1, which both had sbmm and let me tell you it was not an enjoyable experience. The matches were laggy and repetitve, and the incentive to improve or even play was almost completely gone. Sbmm won't help the game, or the playerbase. It encourages smurfing and network manipulation. Stop crying for a crutch because you as a player fail to improve

      • It feels like we have a SBMM system already, at least in rumble. If I’m slaying out in rumble, even if I’m just lucky, all of a sudden 100% of the time I’m put in matches with unbrokens and NFs.

          Quickplay had SBMM, people -blam!- and whines about it so Bungie "accidentally" disabled it. The people has been fine with it since. Comp has SBMM, Iron Banner has SBMM, Rumble has SBMM. Though the SBMM of Comp has a 75% emphasizes on Glory matchmake and the other 25% for actual skill. Bungie made this changed in Season 5. So you can be a legit potato with a 1K Glory yet you will get match with a better player whom is also at 1K Glory here and there. There will always be people that are better than you, and ofcourse they will stomp. You cant expect them to dumb down on their skill level just to be at your level. You too can form a stack and pubstomp, but dont lose as a stack or else that would be real embarassing.

                • I prefer connection. Also playing against better opponents is usually a good learning experience. Helps you improve your reflexes

                  • People that say CBMM is better are lying, every connection based match has just as many connection based problems as SBMM. Why? Because it’s the same netcode! And even with CBMM, you still get matched against people on the other side of the world. The only difference is the teams a better balanced in SBMM.

                    • No for 2 reasons.... 1)Peer to Peer+ SBMM= Rubberbands Everywhere. Worst possible gaming experience possible. Been there done that in D1. No TY 2)You’re NOT going to improve by playing those on the same skill level as you. You’re just going to stay the same. What this game definitely needs is player protection for Newer Players. A newer guardian should NOT be thrown into a match against 5 other seasoned players.

You cant have every playlist cater to you. Not to mention I and many others have already explained that comp with sbmm would lead to FAR more account recoveries and tanking stats to get into easier tiers. Seems like you are just looking to blame everything but yourself for your performance, enough spamming this garbage that literally no one wants, next time I'll just report for spam, these posts ALWAYS get super downvoted and for good reason.

                          SBMM caused me to plateau at a 1 kd for the last year of D1. Now, in D2, I was forced to improve becuase I was thrown into qp lobbies with widely varying skill levels. CBMM gives everyone an equal on the other team and forces you to engage more skilled players, which is what you need to do to improve. The only reason you could possibly want SBMM is if you want to play shit players and play like shit for the rest of your life.

                        • It can't have SBMM until it has a larger playerbase. So, when someone gets to solving THAT problem, then Bungie can consider SBMM.

                            • or just make pve and pvp gear separate. Then stop making people who hate pvp have to endure the cancer to get some new weapon by playing hours of shit they dont want to be doing. Then the 25 people who enjoy pvp can still play eachother.

                            • What is the point of SBMM if every game is against people in Vietnam who eat your bullets for half a second before they do damage. This already happens enough now, with SBMM it would probably be every game. I would be playing against people across the earth and finding matches will take 10+ minutes each but hey, at least my K/D will be similar with everyone else in the lobby right?

                            • Well, D2 Vanilla was like that at first. The streamers complained that every match was “too sweaty”. Lol, in reality they couldn’t get their 50 kill pub stomp videos and were losing views hence less money. Where it’s headed? I dunno, but I’m very interested to see what the re-vamp will be. In all honesty if they just had multiple game modes it would solve a large amount of the issues.

                              • Agree pvpoop is a pubstomp in qp. But just create seperate gamemodes control and clash like d1 and make them 6v6 and sbmm and leave "quickloss" to the shotgun/pinnacle addicted kitty kiddies. Or maybe tier pvp base on character level or loadout. Could as well begin a loadout point based system where various weapon levels have a point total and loadouts for pvpoop are points capped. Anywhoo crucible is a "chores" buzzkill. I wait for ib ususally where sbmm is involved.
