Simply put : CAYDE 7 WILL NEVER HAPPEN BECAUSE CAYDE 6 IS DEAD!! THERE CAN'T BE A 7 IF 6 DIED. The number corresponds to the number of memory resets the exo had. Not the number of times they died.

Counter argument: Make him a badass hunter who does one liners instead of being a complete doofus because “haha stinky poopy” humor has no place in a shooter game. In Destiny 1 he had a cool guy charm with cool guy humor, in Destiny 2 they went the Legend of Korra route by making him a cringey one dimensional pinheaded jackass who cannot keep his mouth shut

There is no Cayde-7 that is not how exos work. The number part of their name means how many times they been rebooted or "restored to factory default".

So I understand that you’re referring to chronicon and I honestly don’t mind the chronicon based on it basically being fanfic. But. Personally. I don’t want Cayde to come back. Not that I didn’t like Cayde. But because we can use the space to help develop more characters. Create more and establish more characters who should have had the same amount of growth as Cayde. We’ve seen tremendous progress with pretty much any character who had a major role in forsaken (plus annual pass) so Drifter, Ada-1, Petra, Spider, uldren, Mara. Now I want to see those things applied to Zavala, ikora, Eris (I’d play devils advocate and say she’s actually pretty good in terms of development although I think a more human less edgy side would be a great sight), Osiris and Saladin especially (although I’d argue a somewhat similar although less convincing thing for Osiris as I did for Eris.), and oh god need i mention Hawthorne in the arse herself. Many people complain that there’s not enough character development, and to an extent that is true...on screen. Behind the lore there is so much happening. Uldren is a great example. He’s actually portrayed very differently in his lore book than his appearance in any other mention. That’s what I implore. More growth for the characters that help make this game interesting. #givethecharactersofdestinythecayde-6treatmentto!!

To everyone saying thats not how Exo's work and just being an ass, he is speaking of the Chronicon in which it is predicted thats there is a Cayde-7. This post has the the word "if" in it. This is just an idea if this came to pass. So quit with the toxicity and absurd ignorance. There's enough of that on here as is.

I think it could possibly happen, but he would be a rogue guardian, with more malicious intentions. It would completely turn around the roles around between uldren and Cayde in forsaken. Uldren becoming a guardian and is teased as the new hunter vanguard, I think bringing Cayde back but as a mental, malicious guardian (rather than the comedic badass Cayde we remember) would create a really cool turn around and story line, and the impact it’d have on some of the characters would be pretty deep. Think joker from the dark knight but as a guardian, and in shadowkeep since we’re visiting our old nightmares, maybe Cayde will make an appearance as an enemy, or at the very least mentioned.

What i'd prefer is to see Cayde return as a human, something like his body being kept on ice in the deep stone crypt, all we need to do is take his memory core and plug it in to transfer his consciousness back to his human body.

While I think this would be a cool dynamic, I kinda would just prefer him to stay dead personally. In Forsaken the message I got from Cayde’s death was that the story’s tone was going to be far more gritty and serious going forward. Cayde’s resurrection would be a retraction of that statement and I feel like it would take a lot of weight away from the story as well as what s currently being set up in Shadowkeep and beyond. Although I guess if they handle it well enough it doesn’t really matter but they would have to handle it VERY well in my opinion for me to take it seriously.
