Spyro and Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked?
I see two possibilities here. Either;
A. A Spyro survival game
B. Don’t Starve, but with dragons

Playing as a dragon on a deserted island, scavenging materials to build up your own cave, hunting goblins and faeries for food, and trying to find other dragons to set up a thriving dragon simcity situation? How can that not work well?
-
Well, a dragon survival game would work fine, but depending on how many elements of Spyro specifically it ported over it runs the risk of either; A. Not feeling anything like Spyro B. Not feeling like a survival game

You're thinking too deeply into it; any game where you play as a dragon will feel like Spyro. What you're talking about is world design, which may have to change, but so long as the spirit of Spyro remains that won't matter, imo. Source: the success of Mario's numerous spin offs.
You're thinking too deeply into it; any game where you play as a dragon will feel like Spyro.
I disagree. Spyro games have a very particular feel in how they play—at least the ones I’ve played do. If the game lost touch with that feel, it wouldn’t really be Spyro.

Oh, absolutely. But as long as you're playing as a dragon - a dragon as Spyro games present them - it should follow that it plays and feels like Spyro, even if the gameplay loop and level design is different. At least the way I think about game feel and identity.
