Lets see: 1. Good food. 2. Good music. 3. Several previous presidents. 4 Home to several astronauts. 5. One of the best baseball training grounds outside of the Sun belt. 6. Auto industry/supply chain. 7. Academics research. 8. Football. Like many Great Lake States, Ohio is on a glacier plain created by the last Ice Age. The advancing sheets of ice ground the land beneath flat. So the Northern and Central parts of the state are relatvely flat. Until you get to the Southern part of the state and get to the foothills of the Applachians. So if you're driving between the major cities....you're going to see a lot of corn fields and wheat fields. With some soybeans thrown in. Ohio not only has a very illustrious position in American history (I won't delve into that...because that would take hours) It is still one of the countries largest, and most populous states. ...and before de-industrialization....it was also one of the richest. Because it produced a lot of the finished products that people used every day. In addition to being a state with a very sizeable agricutltural economy. OTOH, Columbus is a city that lays the groundwork for what post-industrial America looks like. Its one of the biggest tech centers outside Silicon Valley.
