If a quest requires you to play PvP to get a weapon, then yes you are forced into PvP to aquire that weapon. Your point is valid. PvP is not fun because it is based primarily on gear and secondarily on skill. It is an arcade style of PvP rather than a balanced, skill based PvP. That is one of many reasons why the current PvP in Destiny has never been seriously considered for competitive MLG. PvP is an unbalanced chaotic mess of wall hack perks etc. etc. That is unless you have dedicated a large portion of your life to a video game neglecting all else to aquire the best gear. With such gear in hand, not much skill is needed to wreck havoc and ruin the fun of casuals who play for fun, while crowing and strutting about as if they have accomplished something other than pour their life into a game. It's kind of sad when you really think about it.

작성자: Shockwave 35 6/16/2019 8:04:55 PMBut if you really love that exotic weapon and the Quest requires PvP, then you are forced to play PvP to obtain that exotic. Also, none of my forge pulse rifle rolls have been "one of the best" for PvP. I play crucible sometimes and every time I do it reminds me of just how gear based it is over skill based. It's obvious and also the very reason why it is not in professional competitive gaming circuits. It's arcade like, not based primarily on skill. Professionals know this which is why D2 PvP has never made it's way in to serious tournaments.

Very few are using Blast Furnace effectively in crucible for good reason. It fires too slow, smg's, shotguns with a melee or snipers with wall hacks enabled on their gear will beat it out 90% of the time. Especially with all of the Hunter dodging, Warlock blinking etc. You know, the arcade stuff I referenced earlier. The P2P instead of dedicated servers is a minor reason that could be easily fixed if the game were worthy of pro circuit play. For the reasons I previously mentioned before, this arcade style PvP is not even close to being worthy of pro play. That is why they don't waste their time with dedicated servers because they know that doing that would not be nearly enough to bring it to the pro circuit. Long story short, it has nothing to do with dedicated servers.

작성자: Shockwave 35 6/17/2019 12:26:51 AMArmor with the right perks is much less accessible than weapons unless you make the game your life, have a raid team etc. Outbreak easily out classes the other weapons you listed and it is a, I live and breathe Destiny 2 Raid weapon. Wall hacks and markers from gear is the biggest problem IMO. If everyone had access to the same identical perks for armor and weapons in PvP and didn't have to depend on RNG or a life changing dedication to the game, then it would be a balanced playing field. That is not the case however. Many, including myself will not dedicate my life to playing Raids for countless hours on end just to get a perfect PvP roll. Sacrificing valuable time with family and friends is not worth it. I did it in Destiny 1 so don't tell me it doesn't take sacrificing family and friends.....I know better. But you do you.

You do realize a lot of the armor perks give a minimal advantage at best. Sure you can min max but individual skill will always beat out gear. There are certainly better weapons than others but that’s easily mitigated by good gameplay. Claiming otherwise is just an excuse for doing poorly. Getting 1k/d/a is so trivial in this game people do it with just their supers.

작성자: Shockwave 35 6/17/2019 2:07:45 AMCompletely false IMO. When it comes to Raid gear and other time consuming team gathering activities. The gear makes a significant difference with the advanced perks. Individual skills matter but not nearly as much as advanced gear and perks matter. Playing solo without a team against a team of organized D2 no lifers can hurt the KDR stats. In balanced PvP games skill plays a much greater role and counters such outcomes because ALL players have access to ALL gear and perks. That is not true of D2 PvP however. Gear is king and reigns supreme in D2 PvP. That is why some weapons and gear are referred to as "God Rolls" because they are significantly better. It's undeniable and it is simply how the game is designed to be.

His point is not valid. Because collecting exotic weapons isn't required to play the game. And the rest is just your personal opinion on the crucible. Many Destiny 2 players actually enjoy pvp. You and the OP may not, but again that is simply your opinion.
-
If you want an exotic weapon and are required to play PvP to get it, then yes, you are forced to play PvP to obtain that exotic weapon. As far as the crucible goes, it is not just my opinion but the opinion of the MLG and other professional competitive gamers. If D2 were a balanced primarily skill based PvP it would have been in the professional competitive circuits long ago, much like COD and others.

Again acquiring weapons, is completely optional. You wanting something, doesn't change that. Bungie is simply offering weapons to you, with certain parameters set to obtain them. For example I would love recluse, but don't really want to grind glory. So I'm not. And all the other game modes are still available. It isn't being, "forced," if you can choose not to do it, and continue to play.

So you have a choice on whether or not you want the weapon but if you decide you want it you are forced into PvP.

We will have to agree to disagree on the definition of force, or at which point optional content becomes forced content. Bungie is simply offering people activities to play. Some of those activities have certain rewards for completing them under certain circumstances. But if we use your definition of, "forced," then you have to admit, that players are significantly more often, "forced," to play pve content, than pvp content. The main difference being, your preference to pve content to pvp content. Again, that being your personal preference, and not an universally held preference.

Also, are you ok with the Wishender requiring the Shattered Throne, a difficult pve activity? Because I would love to have it along with the ability to break the eggs in the Dreaming City, but it requires one of the most difficult, non raid, activities in the game.
-
Maybe, but it also takes away some of Destiny's uniqueness, imo. And a simple separation wouldn't solve your issue. Unless you mean, you want pvp to have universal, static loadouts. Which sounds horrible to me. I like being able to use weapons earned by completing pve objectives in pvp, and vice versa. The only thing they could change that I wouldn't take a total issue with, is if every weapon quest had both a pve and pvp way to complete them. But it would have to include the raid weapons, which basically diminishes the reward of grinding the raids.
