Edit: I'm making this edit just in case anybody else happens across this thread in the near future. I voiced my concerns in a very vitriolic way. I want to apologize to everyone for this. I admittedly deserve some of the snap-back i received. I'm willing to admit when i'm wrong.
Some of what i said in the original post was addressed later by bungie through twitter. I made adjustments for that.
I understand that moving forward players can expect to pay for each new seasonal installment per platform. My original wording made it sound like i "just want everything free." or that i'm acting "entitled"
That was not my intention. I deserve the flak for that. What i was trying to say was that i felt that this once, at the launch of Shadow Keep, It would be great if you could granted veteran players access to all the seasonal content they have purchased prior to shadow keep across all platforms they register to their Bungie.net account along with Destiny New light... something like a 1st week promotion.
I very aggressively demanded to know what will happen to gear acquired from 1 platform (with all dlc) to another platform (missing associated dlc). This was indeed addressed. My bad, thats on me.
My original gripe was at the explanation of "we cant honor previous purchases across platforms." I'm still of the mind that this can done but it would probably be at some level of detriment bungie or the game itself as a few people very kindly let me know. This all somehow came off as i wished to somehow hurt the community or that i was somehow ungrateful to the changes coming soon. This is very much the opposite of how i feel and in the days since my original post more and more good news has been coming to us. Im excited by all of the changes coming to many of the game's systems and economy as im sure many here are.

1 답변But all your gear is transferred, regardless of DLC ownership. So I’m picturing something like this: I play Shadowkeep’s story on Xbox, get all the gear I need from the DLC, then play Crucible on PC.

3 답변Lmao you think Bungie is the culprit? Both platforms make money from Bungies game too, a certain percentage at least. All three platforms would lose money if this was the case, and Bungie would definitely have a hard time convincing them to do something like this.

4 답변작성자: ghostx78x 6/14/2019 12:22:49 PMI would never expect to be able to play for free on pc just because I bought everything on PS4. I feel the need to set the record straight- they are referring to the fact that you don’t need to buy every dlc to play the newest dlc with your friends anymore. You are confused!

19 답변작성자: Nuclearpath 6/14/2019 12:36:08 PMSo there's a really good reason they can't just magically let you play on a different platform if you don't own the game on there, and let me tell you it isn't Bungie's fault: It's the platforms themselves. Now, if Destiny 2 and everything it had went entirely F2P there would be no issue, but that's the thing, you have to pay for the game each and every time. Do you think Sony would go "Oh yeah that Tommy he bought it on Xbox, that means he can play here for free too!" Because if you do, you likely haven't seen or participated in the competition of companies within the same industry. Microsoft has to make money, Sony has to make money, Valve has to make money, and when Stadia comes out Google has to make money too. I know for a lot of people this is so hard for them to understand, but it's just the way the world works. You aren't entitled to a product simply because you purchased it a single time on your (insert platform here), and I promise you unless Sony, Microsoft, Google, and Valve merge one day, this will never be the case. None of this is Bungie's fault, and honestly barely even any companies fault for the fact that you have to buy the game again. Anyway that's enough out of me. Have a good one!

작성자: NegativeClam 6/14/2019 3:01:02 PM
You already said exotic quests aren't included. What happens to my thorn, my last word, outbreak perfects, ace of spades, arbalest, malfeasence, ARBALEST, THUNDERLORD, TRUTH, WENDIGO, HUSH, 21% DELERIUM?!
"Exotic quests". I am not saying that you don't have enough playtime in the game, what I am saying is, you should really focus what's legendary and which exotic quests are free to everyone, for example Wendigo, Hush, 21% aren't Exotics, Outbreak, Arbalest and Thunderlord were free exotic quests. Don't rant when you have no idea how the game works.

작성자: TheArtist 6/14/2019 3:48:02 PMCross save isn't cross purchase, dude. Fortnite and Dauntless are completely FTP....Destiny isn't. They are basically giving away the base game, all Y1 DLC...and access to all matchmade/playlist content. So you can go over to PC, and play all the public areas, Crucible, Strikes, Gambit, etc..... But they are not giving away this year's annual pass content. That still has value. What they ARE doing going forward is that you don't have to have ALL DLC content, in order to play the seasonal content you want. So you don't have to go back and buy Black Armory and "Season of the Forge" if you want to play The Menagerie and Season of Opulence. Cross-save does have value. I have the PC version of the game....and would prefer to play on that version of the game whenever I'm playing solo. But my characters are trapped on PS4. So what I'll be able to do is be able to fire up my PC and get to play my main characters on the best version of the game when I know I'm going to play solo content.....while go back to PS4 when I need to play with my clan or need a fireteam. So I get the best of BOTH platforms. I also have friends on Xbox that I now have a chance to play with, that I never had before.

1 답변Thats why I laughed the whole time Bungie was saying its free. At least someone gets it. Plus most players arent going to move to another platform to play D2. In fact I will be shocked if its more than 10%. Those that can switch platforms already have when Forsaken came out, now they just have to figure out which accounts they really want or they will continue to play on 2 or more.
