I think that the lore is purposefully unbelievable to hint that Calus is not all he is cracked up to be. He continually states how powerful he is, and how he could easily kill us, but let’s look at some facts: He was bested by Ghaul, whom we beat He continually calls on us for assistance with with enemy threats He constantly embellishes - most prominently seen in his version of past events we have information on His ultimate plan is to die, yes he wants to be the last living, but he has seen the end and isn’t even gonna bother fighting it I think that Calus realizes how incredibly outclassed he is by our Guardians, and is trying to maintain an illusion of power so that we stay on good terms (and even serve him). This ridiculous lore is his way of making himself seem more intelligent/powerful. While he likely does have a machine that allows him to see into the future, it’s unreliable at best, as out paracausal abilities could always alter it...which now that I come to think of it makes all the silly predictions make sense: we can literally do whatever we want, so Calus might be seeing simulated possibilities.

No, it's Savathun messing with Calus and the Psions. She leaves us a note in the Chronicon, the one in brackets saying: [I am Savathûn, and I am Death!] [While this coward invents his histories and futures, I wait. These messages are my gift to you.] ... The "I wait" points to her being the Hourglass too. Good Ol' Savvy ♡ Shadowkeep might just be about Eris and Quria. No Savathun directly involved.. You know what? Wait a minute.. It just hit me, like a slap in the face. What if the "Trespasser" was Eris that visited the Nine. Who wanted to discuss the future? Not "Eris" herself though, but Quria in disguise. (yea I kno shut up lol) Then they set the whole thing up so the Red Legion could attack, the Traveler could awaken and we'd be the hero. That would also explain the Taken portal that appeared in the Forest when we got out Subclasses back. Who made Whisper exactly? There are 2 ornaments, one with Ahamkara bone the other was made by Eris. Forsaken.. someone gave the Rifleman that Devourer bullet, killed Cayde, had us seek vengence, we chased Uldren, killed Riven and started the Curse. Someone had an audience with Mara in Queen's Court, and the presence of the Traveler's Chosen would've been disrespectful to them. All these things we've been gathering have been in preparation for somebody. Like chess pieces being in place for the final encounter with the Deep. Like a play being watched as Riven said. She has to walk this extremely thin line between Light and Dark, as to not anger her worm. (since she's trying to defy her worm) and she's trying not to destroy too much of the Light, because she needs it, needs us and could probably destroy us as it stands right now. I do not think we are going to fight Savathun or Quria at all. They are the Hourglass and the Forgotten Blade. Always at arm's length. Out of our reach. But that doesnt mean we won't learn about Eris and Quria's histories in Shadowkeep.

Tabs on the bottom of each lore tab suggest these are all made up "visions of the future"...by overzealous loyalists to Calus. Like most self absorbed leaders of our past....he creates "prophesies" that fit his vision and will. He has deluded himself into thinking our Guardian agrees with what he's doing and why he's doing it. (Calus is basically The Messenger of DEATH.) The OXA Machine gives numerous visions of the future...numerous paths. He simply selected the one that fits his fancy....despite how unlikely that future is.

Ya know what. I’ll except that explanation. I mean we (most of us) know it’s all bs and chances are not going to happen due to us being paracausal and unpredictable.
