From the Dev Team:
Hey Everyone, World Systems Team here to give you a quick update.
Today (3/5/19 - 2:15 PM Pacific), we've deployed a change to Destiny 2 that will re-tune the amount of Glory Rank points gained and lost in the competitive crucible playlist. Compared to previous seasons, Glory gains and losses have been effectively doubled.
Our goal in this change is to make the ranked playlist more inviting to a larger amount of players. This means more access to pinnacle weapons, higher ranks, and more people to compete against at those higher ranks.
As always, we’ll be monitoring feedback over this change.
Thank you!
Usually dmg04 responds to feedback but it looks as if even he is learning the true ways of Bungie. Basically don’t like it don’t play it. All they had to do was not double down on losses and solo players would have something to look forward to but god forbid that happen. They’ll likely reconsider when even more people stop playing.

I imagine people that have played competitive until now will not like any of the suggestions below. However if you truly want to encourage more players into Competitive you need to make it a lot more accessible. Double the points gained for a win, halve the points taken away for a loss. Lock the rank & sub rank reached so players can't drop all the way back down. or Leave the points for a win alone, stop taking points off for a loss. Either of those ideas would help get more players into competitive as they'd feel they had a better chance to progress. The change you've made will have negligibe impact.

25 답변So this change essentially reduces the overall number of games you'd have to play to reach Fabled/Legend if I understand correctly. This is a cool change as far as the amount of time you spend grinding the ladder, however I also have a suggestion that could help. Hearthstone introduced a change a year or two ago to their rank ladder system that I think Destiny 2 Glory would benefit from. The original Hearthstone ladder had players start from the bottom rank 25 to rank legend (each rank requiring a certain number of wins in order to rank up). It made every monthly reset a grind for legend players, since you could theoretically drop ranks all the way back to rank 25, and the overall player population dwindled. They then revised the ladder system to have caps at how far down the ladder you could fall, at ranks 25, 20, 15, 10, 5. If you made it to rank 20, you couldn't fall below 20. In addition, when the monthly season reset, you wouldn't start back at rank 25: you'd start at the next cap down from whichever rank you achieved. Example: you made it to rank 12, so you'd go back to rank 15 instead of rank 25, making the ladder climb less of a grind, while at the same time making it easier to match competitive opponents who are of similar skill level to yourself. I think Destiny Glory needs the same kind of caps. Once you reach a rank of Guardian, Brave, Heroic, Fabled, Mythic and Legend, you should not fall below that cap. If you make it to Brave, you cannot fall below to Guardian, if you make it to Fabled you can't fall back to Heroic, etc. This change alone would make the Glory playlist less daunting to your playerbase, while at the same time retaining the competitive nature of the playlist by ensuring the Guardians you face are closer to your skill level. In addition, this change would make the grind for Solo Queuers much much easier, as not falling below certain rank caps would make the grind way more realistic, even in high tiers, rewarding dedicated players without punishing them out of the playlist. It would make your progress and time investment more meaningful than the Glory playlist does in its current state. In addition, if the Glory rank you accrued the last season effected the Glory rank of the current season, that would further ensure that players would be facing folks of their same skill level, creating less scenarios where a hypothetical first time comp player loading into the playlist doesn't have to get stomped by a four stack of Not Forgotten legend players at the start of a season. It would also make sure that those top tier players get actual COMPETITIVE matches, rather than having to grind through the fodder to get to those games that brought them to the playlist in the first place. So say a player reached rank Legend, have them start the new season ladder grind at Fabled. If the max rank you reached was Mythic, start the season at Heroic; Fabled players start at Heroic etc etc. This would refine the overall skill gradient of the playlist, making it easier to climb while still remaining truly competitive. This change alone would solve so many of the problems plaguing the comp playlist. You'd give the high tier players the competitive matches they're looking for easier, you'd make it easier for solo queuers to climb to higher ranks than Fabled, you'd increase the player population by making sure the players your facing are closer to your skill level, and make the overall ladder climb more enjoyable/rewarding while keeping it competitive. Please, please, please, consider these changes moving forward. Thank you very much if you took the time to read this <3

Well it sure doesn’t encourage this player to jump in. Folks listen; if you want more scrubs like me in there fighting for these ranks and weapons, then lessen the loss penalty. That will encourage more people into comp. You have to know this. Maybe throw in some armor, while you’re at it.

작성자: Chaindrive_30 3/6/2019 3:33:46 PMHey dmg, pass it in that this does not make competitive more appealing. I haven't touched comp since it started because the modes aren't fun. I don't care if it's sweaty that's fine but not fun at all. Why not add something like KotH, or hell what about Rift? Zone Control or actually making control about zones and not just kills, it's literally just Clash lol. Crucible needs a lot of work, what happened to the Labs? The appeal of competitive is not to double loss points, that will only drive players to not try, they'll just hop in and half ass it to pinnacle weapons. Make it engaging, add in something that will make it interesting. Maybe a bigger 12v12 warzone mode with vehicles. Supremacy that penalizes score for not collecting motes which will encourage players to pick them up? Modes with fixed loadouts, no supers, or a 3v3v3 mode all class based(3 titans, 3 locks, 3 hunters). Make PvP interesting to us, give us a reason to play it. You guys have stumbled so hard with it in D2, making losing appealing does not make anyone want to play comp, a mode where we should be encouraged and rewarded to win. Pass that along, please.

3 답변작성자: Crota bin Oryx 3/6/2019 8:38:51 AMI am regular on these forums and never in my waking memory I've seen a legit post complaining about points not being enough or asking to increase the gain and penalty at the same time (quote me if I'm wrong). How is this even addressing the problem. On the contrary, more penalty on loss will discourage people away from going up against 'paid services'. I believe (and correct me here again if I'm wrong) that community asked for better match making and balance and Bungie just added a multiplier to points system. How does that even solve the problems people have been complaining about in these forums or Reddit? This old joke comes to my mind when reading this post:
Joe had suffered from really bad headaches for the last 20 years. He eventually decides to go and see a Doctor. The Doctor said, 'Joe, the good news is I can cure your headaches. The bad news is that it will require castration. You have a very rare condition, which causes your testicles to press on your spine and the pressure creates one hell of a headache. The only way to relieve the pressure is to remove the testicles.' Joe was shocked and depressed. He wondered if he had anything to live for. He had no choice but to go under the knife. The surgery cost him $15,000. When he left the hospital, he was without a headache for the first time in 20 years, but he felt like he was missing an important part of himself. As he walked down the street, he realized that he felt like a different person. He could make a new beginning and live a new life. He saw a Men's clothing store and thought, 'That's what I need... A new Suit.' He entered the shop and told the salesman, 'I'd like a new Suit.' The elderly Tailor eyed him briefly and said, 'Let's see... size 44 long. Joe laughed, 'That's right, how did you know?' 'Been in the business 60 years!' the tailor said. Joe tried on the suit it fit perfectly. As Joe admired himself in the mirror, the salesman asked, 'How about a new shirt?' Joe thought for a moment and then said, 'Sure.' The salesman eyed Joe and said, 'Let's see, 34 sleeves and 16-1/2 neck.' Joe was surprised, 'That's right, how did you know?' 'Been in the business 60 years.' Joe tried the shirt and it fit perfectly. Joe walked comfortably around the shop and the salesman asked, 'How about some new Underwear?' Joe thought for a moment and said, 'Sure..' The salesman said, 'Let's see..... size 36. Joe laughed, 'Ah ha! I got you! I've worn a size 34 since I was 18 years old..' The salesman shook his head, 'You can't wear a size 34. A size 34 would press your Testicles up against the base of your spine and give you one hell of a Headache.' 5 답변How about you just decrease the score lost to 0? That'll bring people to the playlist but this will just push people away. I thought about going for recluse but the risk is way too high for me to be comfortable playing now

11 답변I’m sorry but if you’ve doubled both you’ve essentially done nothing at all. A long win streak is the only place you will see a difference! Who comes up with these ideas.

4 답변.....I swear y'all need y'all ass whooped, all of bungie. If anything you made it less inviting. Players quitting, Ddosting, losing connection, 4 VS Randoms. At the very least you could acknowledge these issue and tell players that it would take time to fix if you can't do anything about right away. People would still complain but they'd have closure and know its on your todo list. And no I'm not talking to the CMs. Im talking about the devs. CMs are basically the suggestion box that never gets looked at.

6 답변Adding double points lost to a mode where players leave often resulting in losses was not a smart move. Do you even know what’s going on inside competitive and the culture of it? No you lose twice as many glory points bc your down two points and John Doe decides to leave the match. Yea he gets a little slap on the wrist but now those other players suffer DOUBLE GLORY LOSS. Jesus Bungie, it’s been a hot minute since you actually did something the community loved and wpraised that wasent recycled content ex. The last word. You don’t know your players and what’s even worse is you don’t even know the culture of the game. The forums had so many suggestions that were miles better than this, you just keep choosing not to listen. Also you thinking double glory will lead to more pinnacle weapons and higher ranking is false. Players that can’t bust past 1600 glory never will without a carry or recov due to not being that caliber of a player. If anything you just promoted recovs even more. All I hear is “now we can do more Luna and NF recovs in a shorter time” and players will pay for it bc they are to afraid to lose more glory as they start getting closer to 2100. Revert to regular glory accumulation or keep double win points but regular loss or something, anything, just not this.

5 답변So if I'm correct in this assumption. If you get ten per win and lose 5 per loss. Then one win followed by two losses is zero. Now we get twenty per win and lose 10 per loss. Meaning a win followed by two losses still equals zero. How is that more inviting. Soloist still get stuck with crappy team mates against stacked teams leading to streaks not happening. Because the search criteria is not based on player or team average of lifetime kill to death ratio. Which would put players in more equally matched games. Using glory rank does no good as you just reset it. And once the try hards get to max they reset it. Leaving lower ranks flooded will people above that skill level. Hopefully this explains what you should already know as it's the type of thing being shouted since around the warmind dlc. Remember that moment things went down hill and player base started dropping. Just saying.

3 답변this is a good change. you’re still losing about the same points as you win BUT if you’re not losing you’re earning double. you guys really just like complaining.

8 답변If you get on a win streak then you can fly through the ranks, so that's nice. But if you go W,L,W,L (which should be likely if matches are evenly balanced) then this doesn't really change much does it? I'm sure I'm being thick here but doubling both doesn't sound like the best way to entice people in. Doubling wins and leaving losses the same would've been much more appealing to the average player.

11 답변
Glory gains and losses have been effectively doubled.
WHO TOLD YOU THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?!
Our goal in this change is to make the ranked playlist more inviting to a larger amount of players.
HOW IS THIS INVITING?! You're not making any sense with this shit. How does losing double points entice anyone to want to play Competitive? That shit is not attractive. It's not drawing me to want to play competitive. I'm actually more inclined to stay tf away from it.

1 답변You have been receiving constant feedback on Glory for the past two seasons.....and this is what you come up with??????????

1 답변create new pinnacle weapons (oh wait, you did) and move the old ones to quickplay like redrix. that way people that don't have teams and want to play against pros doing recovs and streamers can still get the guns.
