So there is a software for Linux called Wine. It can translate Windows API calls into POSIX calls so basically you can run Windows softwares on Linux. I saw a lot of post where players got banned for using this software to play on Linux. I checked the article (bungie.net/ban) where it says that modified operating system files including emulators and virtual machines cannot be used to play the game. But Wine is neither an emulator nor a virtual machine so I can't find out what is the problem. Sure optionally you can use DXVK to translate DirectX API to Vulkan API (because there is no DirectX for Linux) for mutch more better performance, but that is not hacking in any form... Please could someone tell me the reason for banning people who are using this method to play?
