There is a lot of players that enjoy grinding those things. It's about the time and effort

once you hit level cap there is no reason whatsoever to play and it infuriates me. Just Do a D1 & D2 total conversion and give us everything under 1 god damn game.. im so fed up with it

In this boat. I’ve played so much LW raids trying to get the exotic, I can’t motivate myself to keep doing Shattered Throne and Ascendant Challenges for the Ship and Ghost either. I should play Gambit this week and next to get the Ship and XP for my 3rd reset, but honestly can’t be bothered as I don’t enjoy the RNG element of these titles, specifically Cursebreaker and Dredgen ...

I am just not interested in what's happening. It's turned into a massive grind, and the only praiseworthy thing about Forsaken, the story, only has a tenuous attachment to the Dreaming City and Black Armory. All anyone does on these forums is bitch and moan and snipe at each other, so you can't even have a discussion about the lack of content - it's just as toxic as the Bioware forums were before they shut them down. I don't even know why they bother - there's literally nothing useful on here. We have the annual pass, but you know what, neither me nor my wife are interested in what's happened: with Black Armory we've basically paid for content that we've been locked out of because we're too casual. We took a break from playing, now we don't have time to grind up. Next up is Season of the Drifter: no kidding that's going to be almost entirely invested in a game mode we don't play (along with the majority of people, judging by the wait times the one time we did play). And then because all content lacks any imagination and any story - and it's entirely designed to get you invested in the grind rather than the Destiny universe - it's going to be utterly boring to carry on grinding outside of those content drops, and when the light cap moves to 700 there'll be an even longer grind and we'll be even further behind. This isn't like levelling or prestiging, either - this is literally DLC content that drops that you can't play until you grind for 20-30 hours first. Not interested in collecting and not interested in a grind so we can just play content we've paid for, not when the story is so sparse and vapid and there's basically no lore. We want to play a game where we can have fun with randoms in public events, run strikes without having to bail a couple of times because someone decides to speedrun them, and play interesting content we don't have to Google for information about. I'm not sure I've ever played a game that's so sparse in its approach to information - either deliberately or so bad at telling a story or introducing people to the world - that you have to search for even the most basic things, like what to do next after the Dreaming City's "story" is over. That's before you even get to stuff like sleeper nodes and those weird quest grinds. But both Bungie and the Destiny community clearly want something different, because if you say anything like this then you get accused of wanting to be spoon fed in the game. Meanwhile player numbers drop because guess what - most people don't want to have to spend hours wandering aimlessly around or spend their time Googling for information. That annual pass is just going to be treated as a sunk cost then. Because by the time Bungie drop something interesting we'll be so far behind it won't matter. We can safely plan to not buy anything in the future because nothing is going to change here.

If Destiny was good, I'd be playing.

Every week.. "its reset day, I think in going to play some destiny" Turn the game on.. do a single public event.. "this is some boring a** s***" 3 daily missions for a milestone? Never. Gambit? Absolutely not. Crucible? Although it's better than Vanilla D2, it just doesnt have the same fun factor as D1 had.. its stale.. and whatever happened to the "well be able to update the sandbox more regularly speech" Raids? Ok. If you feel like finding 5 people that have thumbs. NF? Back in D1 the weekly NF was ALWAYS the first thing I'd do.. the new NF system is dull as well, so that's not enticing 3 "heroic" but not really heroic strikes? You have to change your subclass to match others.. LAME Like a dumb dumb, I bought the annual pass because I wanted to play destiny.. the forge was very MEH, all about petty grinding. Gambit is butthole. The fact they are dedicating an entire season to it is a huge turn off.. I'll give destiny 3 a shot.. but D2 will never recover from its launch, it just left a very bad feeling in a lot of us.

I guess I have reasons to play; I haven't completed everything, but I have little to no will to play. The thrill is gone.
