Assuming destiny 3 will be released in the future, of course.
The current network system for destiny 2 is a bit silly at this day and age. It holds back the game in numerous ways. In pvp, e.g. Matchmaking, possible ddossers, lag, hit registration and ghost bullets.
Not only that the drawbacks have become more apparent in pve recently. E.g. Registration when picking up motes in gambit and picking up charges in black armory forges.
So please bungie, invest in dedicated servers for future games.

11 답변Servers? As opposed to the "hybrid" set up D2 has now? Nah' we will get "super hybrid turbo", which is just another name for peer to peer with a tendency to have issues that other games don't have. ....but with all new automated messages to blame your internet as the reason you are experiencing connection problems only on this game. Error: Disconnected again, you poor bastard. It's obviously your fault. For information on resolving this issue, please visit bungie.net and search for: codpiece Error: You have been removed from gameplay. -blam!- you. For information on resolving this issue, please visit bungie.net and search for: NotOurProblem Error: Guess what? Yeah, happened again, you stupid -blam!-. Sorry dude dedicated servers have only been in other games for decades Bungie cannot incorporate this advanced tech, when they are only charging AAA prices for unfinished reboots. Sorry to disappoint :( Oh..... they are listening though

They wont spend the money. As long as people keep paying to play with their shitty P2P setup there is no incentive for them to do otherwise. It’s a net loss for them. Unless people stop playing for this reason and its a metric they can measure, things will never change.

Worst part is that for Xbox One, Microsoft offered all game studios dedicated servers _for free_ if they wanted it, as part of Xbox Live Compute.
"Microsoft's next-gen console, Xbox One, will have dedicated servers available for all multiplayer titles, a Microsoft representative confirmed to Polygon today. According to the representative, the servers are part of Xbox Live Compute — the console's cloud. Yesterday on NeoGAF, Microsoft director of marketing Albert Penello confirmed to forum users that all developers will have dedicated servers, cloud processing and storage for saves. "If you want to do dedicated servers on other platforms, you have to prop them yourself," Penello wrote. "But on Xbox One, while developers can choose to use their own methods, we make it available to everyone." "We offer Xbox Live Compute to all Xbox One developers for free," an Xbox rep later confirmed to Polygon. Dedicated servers for all multiplayer games, however, isn't guaranteed, as individual developers have control over how they use Xbox Live Compute. Xbox One launches Nov. 22. During the console's unveiling, Marc Whitten announced that it would feature more than 300,000 servers powered by cloud technology."
https://www.polygon.com/2013/10/16/4846636/xbox-one-will-have-dedicated-servers-available-for-multiplayer-games More info on Xbox Live Compute and how it's used for Titanfall: https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2014/04/04/xbox-one-xbox-live-compute/

1 답변P2P was already a joke when Destiny came out. Hybrid P2P/dedicated is a giant steaming load of brown stuff and is somehow worse than old P2P D2 cured me of pre-ordering anything and if there is a D3 without dedicated servers, forget bungLe!

For them to have dedicated servers they would need a new game engine. Don't remember who but someone interviewed Luke Smith and he said they couldn't do dedicated servers because there been using a morphed and upgraded version of an engine from og Halo days. Hopefully d3 will be on unreal or frost bite.
