OP is saying that if a players crucible history is a string of games won but with 0 kills and 0 deaths that means they are ddosing/hacking to win. He isn't being jealous, just pointing out how people are ruining the game for others.

작성자: mrbird33 2/18/2019 3:22:44 PMNo matter how much people beat this dead horse, BUNGIE CANNOT STOP those attacks. Sony pictures has been hit with it, goverments have been hit with it. It is no preventable in todays world. Dedicated severs would slow it down, but unless the fans want to help from the millions and millions of dollars to put these servers everywhere in the world, as this is a world wide game, there is not a single thing bungie can do to prevent these attacks. Time to stop with the walls of cry and just accept it as part of todays gaming world

Just because the end user can't outright prevent DDoS attacks doesn't mean that players shouldn't discuss this problem on Bungie.net. Arming players with the facts on the issue will help them recognize when someone is DDoSing, and to plan accordingly when playing against such DDoSers (eg. by purchasing VPN services, or departing from games if matched against such people). Knowledge is power, after all, especially in an information age.

This kind of stuff has been discussed for 4 years... Until bungie takes more steps to get off p2p, the users will be on the short end of the stick.. Bnet booters can still get through a vpn. They are pretty much uncontrollable , as alot of these ghost sites are located in countries that do not view this as a crime. My brother works for cisco and they have been chasing dos attacks from all over. There is just very little they can do.

There are still a lot of people, including those who frequent these forums, who aren't really aware of DDoS attacks, or even know what they are. That's why threads like these are important, to highlight to other players (and to Bungie) that DDoSing is a problem plaguing the game. Even if Bungie can't do much to stop them, except to perhaps ban those accounts that are found to be engaging in them, it's still worth warning other players who likely have no idea why they suddenly lose internet connection while playing Destiny's PvP. At the very least, it will help people understand that such 'unfortunate' internet disconnections aren't actually the fault of their internet connection, or even Bungie's terrible netcode, but due to someone on the opposing team cheating. I still see people on these forums posting, asking why they keep getting disconnected while playing Crucible, so it's important to disseminate information about DDoS attacks as widely as possible. Otherwise, players on the receiving end of a DDoS attack may end up blaming their ISP when it's not an issue with their ISP's service, or going through hours and hours of tech support calls trying to pin down what the issue is.

I have no problem at all with anything you just said. My biggest issue is people still thinking bungie can magically fix the issue, amd making threads as if bungie or anyone else can do something about it. Boot attacks have been going on for a long time, and shows how bad p2p gaming opens us up. However, it was apparently clear that bungie isnt prepared to give the dedicated servers. While that wont completely eliminate the issue, it will help. After 4 years, its accepted by most , as part of the gaming world here, and as a whole. We cant expect a magical fox, when even the highest secure governments , banks ect... Cannot prevent these attacks. If people are just want information, there are tons out there, as well as videos...

I will enlighten you a bit. Botnet booter sites... I can give one your screen name. They will trace it to your ip, through my match history. They will boot you from your games, as many times as i want, for a monthly sub. It is completely un traceble to me or them. You cannot " fight" a ghost you cannot see. This type is service is very much why p2p gaming is now so antiquated. So to sit here and bellyache about something, that is at the current unsolvable, is doing nothing at all . Bungie cant go on assumptions that people who continuously win against shorthanded teams, are cheating. Is it probable? Sure. Can they phsycially prove it..no. Thats why bans are not so quickly handed out. If they ban the wrong people, and that person banned can prove its unjust with a lawyer, then there is a problem.
