As most do, let me preface this by saying I'm a beta D1 player, been there, done that etc. I stopped playing D1 the day I found out about D2 being a new game rather than a continuation and didn't return until Forsaken. Having not played any of the vanilla game, COO or Warmind, I had a lot to catch up on and my initial month or two back in the game were a lot of fun.
However, I'm leaving again, mainly to keep my sanity. Bungie, if you wish for this franchise to survive, these forums have a treasure trove of insights for you to trawl and I won't repeat everything you need to do in order to maintain interest.
But for me, as a LOOTER SHOOTER with RPG aspirations, my main issue is the INSANE RNG aspects of gear drops. For example:
- 40-45 riven kills - no One Thousand Voices
- 15-18 shattered throne clears (can't remember how many, but quite a lot) - no ship
- god knows how many gambit games - no ship
After a point, player's pursuits go from excitement, to frustration, to apathy. Look at games like Diablo 3 - loot drops are still RNG, but the percentages aren't anywhere near as bad. But we keep going back to that as drops get different roles so you keep trying to get perfect stats.
Anyway, I'm not expecting any kind of response and by this stage, I'm sure you've heard this feedback already, but just wanted to add from my perspective, why I'm going to be moving on. I may be back for Destiny 3 if you can make some radical improvements to the game.
EDIT: if Bungie do reply to this it would be amazing to have a response which isn’t just ‘we will pass feedback on’. I’d genuinely like the RNG algorithm explained a bit, because it really does feel broken
EDIT2: I know this is the internet, and trolls be trolling, but please refrain from the classic ‘stop whining posts’ as it just makes you look a bit silly. Legitimate criticism is fine but 10 year old level trolls are just lame.
EDIT3: it saddens and amazes me how many trolls there are on this forum! I know they’re either little kids or just sad pathetic losers who I will just ignore from here on, but it frankly baffles me why people reply to comments they think they’ve read, but haven’t, or just absolutely trying to wind up. Very sad these losers exist and have a platform to speak on the internet.

But there comes a point after like 6 months that you just think, balls to it. I've totally given up on trying to chase titles now. Its just hella tedious.

How can i run dreaming city every week since launch on all characters and not get any cosmetic items but i can get the same item dropped 3 times in a row. Last week on my Hunter, i got 4 swords from all the dreaming city bounties. Do you know how improbable that should be in a true RNG game. I'm still missing a load of exotics on my hunter but keep getting duplicate guns. Again, with duplicate protection AND supposedly higher chances of armor over guns, this is almost impossible to occur more than once let alone 4 times in a row. I honestly believe the game reduces the probability of receiving the things you are chasing to elongate play time and keep you coming back for that one item. Better Devils has been my favorite gun in D2 since i got it and i racked up 32k kills with my Y1 version, upon random rolls dropping i instantly decided that i will keep my tokens from PvP and turn those in 1 thousand at a time. I'm now 35k (approximately) tokens in and i have received maybe 14 better devils all with a timed payload roll. Meanwhile i have a clip of the shotgun dropping 5 times in a row, the boots 4 times in a row, literally any other item several times in a row. RNG is absolute BULLSH!t in this game.

1 답변Hahhaahha Boy, let me tell you a story about a guardian. A guardian who cleared VoG 80+ times and after six months he actually got Mythoclast, how he fought hard to get Thorn for almost a month, using a Titan and blue fusion rifle with a storm trooper aim, how he FINALLY got Gjallarhorn during the King's Fall raid. And on D2, he hasn't been able to get Geomag exotic boots for his warlock or how he did 30+ Last Wish raid to get the Thousand Voices. Booooiiii, let me tell you, my story... (you better had read all that with Kratos voice)

1 답변Yep, funny I was about to post the same thing. If Bungie's intent is for us to put together a 6 man team (this isn't some thing we can just chase willy-nilly as a solo or in matchmaking) for over three months for one gun, they can keep it. There are people who love eternal grind, I'm not one of them. For me, if another raid is out before I was even able to finish the loot with the last one it's too much. The rarity itself isn't necessarily the problem, it's that they leave the RNG open-ended. There's theoretically no 1kV in sight ever for some people out there. I had the idea of cutting of the tail end and just giving the gun to the last 20% (basically 1.6 times the 1 in X odds). Lets say 1kV is 1 in 20, at 32 tries it becomes guaranteed. It's not really hurting the gun economy when 80% of the people statistically already have the gun at 32 tries. But nope, that would take effort. They don't care, so I'm at the point where I don't care. I really like this game, but I'd rather have some downtime here and there (or just have more time to go farm stuff casually) than run the same thing for literally months. I might come back when they finally get it that RNG is ugly when it's unmitigated. But until then, I'll be playing things that actually make me feel like I'm moving forward.

If I could force Bungie to make one change only, I’d have they remove the power level. It’s utterly worthless outside of allowing you to actually do damage inside certain activities. I can’t solo a 540 NF but I had no problem soloing the 630 strike version to unlock the third forge. Doesn’t add up.

Don't get monarch, no curated, conflicting armor perks - wasted time, zero progress. I guess it was kind of fun, killing thrall on mars with precision shots.... again... I complete a milestone, contemplate if I should even turn it in. Hope for fuuucking geomags, nope, another sniper with threat detector and a field prep... Go to vault - Jesus Christ its full of armor and weapons with zero perk synergy, machine gun reserves and rocket launcher aiming... it's almost like the game is trolling us at this point. I dont know what they can do to fix this - ive played the hell out of it and defo got my money's worth, but it really is starting to bore me... Playing with my mates is the best part - but we basically -blam!- off through the raid. Good times though 😂🤣

I actually totally agree. I've been very lucky wjen it comes to RNG. I've got pretty much every exotic in the game. 1kv dropped on my first completetion as did Le Monarch. That said i have run every bounty every week on the Dreaming City on all characters and no ghost shell. The ship akso will not drop. So I've stopped bothering. And thats what this game is now. All people have to play for is badges. These badges do nothing, but give props to those who have them and they are all dictated to by terrible RNG. So.... whats the point?

7 답변You're a beta D1 player. And your issue is rng? How and why are you still here then? This entire game is designed around rng

10 답변The issue for me is that we've been burnt out having to do a bit of everything for milestones every week and that's it. Rng wouldn't be that bad if you were playing for fun instead of targeting something behind it. Like does anyone run more than three strikes a week?

작성자: MouthMaggot 2/13/2019 3:21:13 PMThe RNG doesn't bother me. But like other grindy games you know where and what can drop what you want and you grind there Bungie added RNG to RNG to artificially prolong your gaming time from maybe 1 run to 1200 runs with no luck. They don't care what you earn or what your times worth, as long as you log on to pretend people are still playing. And most of them play because they want that RNG to finally hit a slot machine . Not for fun in any form from playing the game

It was also mainly helmets or chest pieces, never legs, arms, or cloaks.
