Yep, if you're smart and plan there's no problem. I've talked to casual gamers that have no core issues, they just know how to prioritize better and be patient. Decision making is a major part of any game: card, board, video, even sports. It's a commonality they all share. Do you make the right ones?? I've never had a problem with any material, farming on one character spending cores on 3... I have 1/2 as many hours as you too, you should be drowning in cores.
Anecdotal evidence and a Sports metaphor about choices... Awesome. 🙄 Glad you like the grinding on top of the other grinding just to play with gear you like. I don’t. Simple as that. And the “meaningful” decision making you and other naysayers keep talking about is useless. I already know what gear I like and what gear I’d like to go after. Some of which I’d still like to master work so they feel better but if I want to prep for the new season, I have to start saving again. F that noise. That and I’d hoped to try out new gear with sandbox changes but I didn’t wanna spend hours to days grinding for cores to do so, just so I still have a cores bank so I can bring up stuff I like next season. Decided I’m not doing that with next season either. I don’t mind a bit of grinding. I’ll grind for everything outside of cores. And I have plenty of cores, and lots of “masterwork” gear, but that’s not even remotely the point. On top of not playing the basic fun things to do, it’s a waste of time and a cheap shot at expanding lack of content. You have to spend a day or to just grinding cores on reset before you tackle the main content. If there even is new content... LW quest was new(ish) content but after that? What? “Let’s keep them grinding for cores with that same 5-7 bounties every character every week and maybe they won’t notice we don’t have much else once you’ve done the story. And we’ll bump light levels every season so these idiots keep on the hamster wheel just to be able to play it.” (Don’t even get me started on going after triumphs and lore, because when RNG is involved with both, it’s doing the exact same thing as trying to cover for lack of content.) But hey, you like grinding for cores on top of grinding for glimmer, multiple types of planetary materials, shards, gunsmith parts, etc, by all means, be my guest. I’d rather hunt for for lore (dead ghosts were really cool) and I want to play the actual game. Not sit there pressing a button for ten minutes when Spider has Mercury mats, spend 3-5 minutes fly to mercury, pressing said button again praying cores drop, dismantling everything, and repeating the process. BOOORRRRIIINNNGGGG!!! That’s not playing the game. It’s busy work. I dead stopped going after update and in the middle LW quest because of it. “Enhancement cores” should to Enhance the game and gear, not take away from it. Until they straighten that shit out, and even though I love Destiny lore and mechanics, I’ll keep playing ESO. At least the grind there is meaningful and not because there’s not much else to do. Ps. Played ESO few years ago, sucked. Picked it up again because of this core debacle and some recent reviews I read, MUCH better now. Massive improvements. Still doesn’t feel as good as D2 (though it’s scope and scale is what I’d hoped Destiny would be when I first picked it up) but I still recommend it. I’d also like to point out that playing ESO is a grind in itself. But I don’t mind it because it’s actually meaningful. Thanks. You’ve been a great audience. Tip your bartenders. 🤘😘
Well put and right on point. Thank you.
