New flashpoint idea.
The name flashpoint is changed to "total war"
Let's say the flashpoint is on the EDZ. Upon entering, you stand before Devrim. To his right is a fallen Captain, and to his left is a cabal centurion. He explains that factions want a short term armistice with you.
Picking sides-
Picking fallen will make all cabal in the EDZ remain hostile. Fallen will become allies.
Picking cabal will do the same in vice versa.
Rewards-
By joining a side you will be rewarded reputation each time you score kill on the opposing side.
Fallen reward fallen themed loot.
Cabal reward cabal themed loot.
Vex give vex loot
Hive give hive loot
Operations-
A new feature that will be added in is operations.
Large battles that act as large scale public events.
Cabal-
Players allied with cabal will be tasked with boarding a fallen ketch and planting a bomb.
Fallen-
Players will be tasked with destroying cabal anti air guns.
Let's look at the major changes to the maps during total war.
EDZ: Fallen Vs Cabal. There are X5 the amount of enemies as normal. The sky is filled with Cabal ships and fallen ketches. Every now and then a ship will explode causing your guardian to stumble while the ground shakes and pieces of debris fall around you. There are fallen walkers on the ground and on sides of buildings.
Devrim Kay has new voice lines and bounties.
Devrim: I don't know the cabal did but it sure pissed of the fallen. We can use this as an opportunity to assassinate major fallen and cabal generals who are taking part in the fight.
The bounties have several steps you are required to do before fighting the boss. Such as Killing certain number of enemies, defending a certain point, and killing a specific enemy.
Ending-
At the end of the flashpoint players will all receive rewards.
The faction that successfully completed the most Operations and Public events will get better rewards.
Faction victory: Players receive 20 Masterwork cores and an exotic engram(high chance to be an exotic you don’t have)
Faction loss: 10 Masterwork cores and an exotic engram(high chance of duplicate)
Let look at the other planets.
Titan-
Hive Vs Fallen. X5 more enemies than Normal. Sky is filled with hive warships and fallen ketches. As you spawn in for the first time our guardian will look around at the chaos. Then you'll notice a fallen skiff flying low to the water. The hive worm leaps out smashing into the skiff before plunging back into the depths.
You can get bounties from Sloane.
Operations-
Hive: Help hive complete a summoning ritual to give them an edge on fighting the fallen.
Fallen: Help fallen defend a Ketch while it makes repairs.
Nessus-
Fallen vs Vex. X5 more enemies. Fallen ketches being attacked by vex harpies. Failsafe has bounties for you.
Operations-
Vex: Help defend 4 cyclops’ while they act as anti air.
Fallen: Go through a portal to Venus and stop the vex from creating another nexus mind.
Mercury-
Vex vs Cabal. 5X more enemies.
No operations because play space is too small.
Mars-
Cabal vs Hive 5X more enemies.
No operations.
Instead during escalation protocols there will be a massive battle between cabal and hive.
This does not take place in the Shore and Dreaming city.
This was just a quick idea but a fun one at that.

2 답변Honestly, great idea, but as others have said - Lore won't allow. I'd say, however, that Flashpoints could be made more exciting with that "total war" concept. More enemies around - more aggressive - and every few minutes as you're patrolling around the Flashpoint, you get ambushed by whatever enemy faction is controlling the Flashpoint for that planet (heck, it could always be Cabal even). But basically, these enemies spawn in (drop ship, teleport, whatever) right on top of you and begin waging battle. The enemies would be relative to your level, and made slightly challenging. I've played other MMO's that had similar mechanics to this style of "weekly wars" and it was always fun. Definitely more interesting than the current Flashpoint system.

I’d be down for this, with the exception that we don’t join the Fallen/Cabal/whoever. Like they’re fighting each other but we’re fighting BOTH of them and choose which one we want to hurt MORE. This is an awesome idea tho. Fr.

It just doesn't make sense to help the Hive on Mars, but then fight against them in the dreaming city. Or to help the Red Legion on Earth, but then fight against them on Mars. Also, the rewards system you suggest for the end is exactly what they tried to do with the factions and faction rallies, and we all know how that went. It's a pass for me.

2 답변Lore-wise, this setup wouldn't make sense except for the Fallen. It is a neat concept though.

It is unfortunate that the community constantly has better and more creative ideas than Bungie. It is even more unfortunate that they never utilise ideas they are presented with or provide any alternative or even acknowledgement. They are the worst enemy to themselves.

I love the concept buuut like everyone else it just doesn’t make sense in the lore. Perhaps the team up part is just not a thing and we just take advantage of either sides technology to benefit ourselves. Like send ghost to mess with the cyclops’ minds to trick them into firing on the ketch. Or stealing cabal weapons to blow up stuff
