Wait, what? WORK for something in a VIDEO GAME?
There is a difference between actual work as in a daily job and a hobby to relieve the stress from WORK!
This is a game, not a job. It's meant to be enjoyable and relieve stress, not cause it. Otherwise, get a job, enough stress there.
I you need to work for it, it's no longer a pass time, it's a job and the exact opposite of what digital entertainment is meant to offer. Being entertainment, something to spend time on to relax and unwind.
This offcourse is my opinion and to each their own.
That being said. Yes, there should be objectives and something to chase and there should be challenges. But from the very moment a quest actively punishes you and takes away progress then the game becomes counterproductive and a cause of frustration. This is not what video games are meant for. They are meant to relieve frustration, not cause it. I'll get the last word because I like collecting the exotics and playing around with them but I can not agree with the counter productive mechanism in place which punishes players and takes away progress.
This quest step would have been fine if it said something like kill x amount of guardians in crucible. It's a PVP focused weapon so a step like that would make sense.
What's the most efficient way to do the quest? Simple, leave matches if you're being stomped by 6 stacks of Luna's or start next match again at 0% or tap a guardian with a single shot and run away to farm assist kills. A quest like this does not in any way or form contribute to an enjoyable PVP experience, it does the exact opposite. If it was kill x amount of guardians, anyone would play their hearts out to get the kills. Now it promotes leaving, assist kills only and running away.
That is what is wrong with this quest and should, righfully so, never appear in a quest line ever again.

I'm not familiar with the quest yet, but to speak about gaming and what it provides for people. Yes, some people play games for relaxation and to unwind and for entertainment. But that's definitely not all games can provide. I personally think Destiny is not a good game for that either. I would say normal single player RPG's tend to be better for that. For me, I often play games to improve my coordination and engage my brain. More so I use them to achieve. Achieving is one of my core values in life, and games have provided a great way to do that ever since I was 6 years old. If you're truly trying to just relax and unwind, I really believe there are some games better suited for that.

This could motivate players like yourself to seek that challenge by playing smarter in map positioning for example to test yourself on how fast you could kill to get it done. This could also encourage the bad players in PVP (I consider myself one of them) to improve their game and getting the quest over with since PVP is not our strong suit. But in it's current form it doesn't provide any form of encouragment and in stead promotes match leaving and only getting assist kills while constantly running away to not get shot down in stead of trying to win the engagement.
