If Mexico is gonna pay for it through trade deals and whatnot (lol) why can't we just reopen the government and pay all these workers until that happens??
🤔🤔🤔
Why force 800,000 people to go without a paycheck right now? What's the point in punishing all those people?

1 답변Because the story that NAFTA will pay is completely bogus. It's a trade deal so while it generates money for economy, there is also an outflow of capital going to trading partners under the agreement. Further, any benefit to government will come through taxes on goods sold. The amount of trade generated will, and resulting tax, will in no way come close to $25B+ needed for wall.

1 답변So even if the deal indirectly or whatever bs they want to call it pays for the wall, government still has to approve funding which we're at an impasse on so we have a shutdown. Sounds like a new bill is going to the Senate today so we'll see how it plays out. Either way, Trump can't back down now as this was his big promise. If he does, he loses any support he has and seriously hurts his chances of re-election.

Well, for one, NAFTA 2.0 hasn't gone into effect, or even been ratified, yet. Trump couldn't use it to pay for the wall right now even if he wanted too. Further, congress would still have to appropriate the money, so even if NAFTA 2.0 did provide the necessary funds, it wouldn't stop a shutdown. Trump's contention that Mexico will indirectly pay for the wall through NAFTA 2.0 is nonsense anyways.

I might be wrong about this (since I’m not from the US), but I think that the Mexican government are supposed to be paying the Mexicans to build the wall. In that sense, I’d say it is the Mexican governments fault for not paying the workers.
’it was trump who wanted the wall. the US government should pay for it’ there wouldn’t need to be a wall of the illegal immigrants didn’t keep crossing the border. There’s the whole thing about how the Mexicans over there who live rough have no money and no education, and so their only option is to go to America. That doesn’t make sense to me. How will they find accommodation or a job? I’d personally find that disrespectful if they did find accommodation and employment considering there are AMERICAN VETERAN SOLDIERS living on the streets.
tbh democracy is a lie. Power doesn't corrupt for shit. We need a STRONG LEADER to run this bitch. No government shutdown. No wall. We just shoot the pricks coming over here illegally and be done. That's some amazing stress relief.

He's proud to shut down the government for border security. He's also a super awesome businessman who can make deals with anyone because he's cool and everyone loves him. The only problem is that the democrats are run by communist globalist deep state nazzies and utterly refuse to let him make his deals that nobody except him wants to make. Its not his fault, blame over half the population for being anti American and not supporting him
