There's been a lot of these post lately again! Yet they seem to disappear almost as quick as they go up...
Make sure to check the #feedback section and leave input there as well on ALL similar threads!
I will repost what i wrote in a similar thread:

I agree 100%, masterwork cores are/were meant for masterworking not infusion...
They have received all the feedback they could ever need. After the first round of feedback they responded with an excuse stating that masterwork cores were always meant to be used for more than masterworking... 100% BS!
So what did they do, they changed the name to enhancement cores ignoring the feedback, ignoring their paying customers, and insulting them with phony excuses to boot (but who'd expect honesty from Bungie at this point).
Bottom line is that they have received more feedback than they could ever need and continue ignore it!! I personally wouldn't hold my breath on this change ever happening or historically Bungie caring what it's customers want, unless your one of a handful of streamers that is, "best and brightest" I think they call them...
This is a company with a known and continued history of shady tactics and lying to it's paying customers (it wasn't just ATVI). While asking and hoping for change is a darn good thing (definitely don't stop doing it!) Bungie at the end of the day is a business with the almighty $$$ being the bottom line, so the only real thing that will inspire any real change is a loss of revenue. It falls upon us individually as the customers to decide what issues make it or break it for us, what we can accept and live with game wise and what we can not.
At the end of the day if your needs are not being met there are plenty of other games to throw money at. :)

It would be 100% correct to say that many folks did ask for more to do in the game.
In all honesty I think that in a effort to do this Bungie misinterpreted it's customers wants and missed the mark with the change to masterwork cores. It's implementation was a poor and lazy way to go about giving players more to do and a completely unnecessary change. People want meaningful progressive content not chores.
However that is just my opinion. What is not opinion is the overwhelming desire expressed for the infusion aspect of cores to be removed since day one of its implementation.
Personally as I stated IMHO it was a majorly unnecessary change. That being said I still had all three of my characters to 650 one and a half weeks into the expansion, and three more to 650 a week and a half after that, and now have eleven characters on five different accounts at 650. So although the cores are not a game breaker for me not all folks have a wide open winter work schedule like me, and I see where this could be a big issue for a lot of paying customers.
I won't argue over the matter but I will stand by the fact that since day one of it's implementation the vast majority of feedback on requiring masterwork cores for infusion has been negative.
ugh no it is fine the way it is.... and if you are having issues acquiring them then you dont need them since they rain from dismantleing items. Also to avoid using so many cores. Only infuse Ilvls +5 or try to infuse the same item that is high ilvl to exact one that is lower if u like the passives. Once u get to 650 u will have so many left over.
Buy them from spider, do your scrapper bounties, dismantle useless shit, turn in tokens for more useless shit, reset crucible (after upcoming patch) pop the matrix thing that gives enhancement cores, dismantle all of the duplicate curated rolls from the raids, nightfalls, etc. I regularly infuse shitty items at 650 into old favorites, even masterwork weapons and armor pieces fully quite frequently and I still rarely dip under about 80 cores. Maybe be wiser with them? Or play more? Don’t horde? I
Over the past week, I’ve completed all of spiders bounties, done several of those things that cause cores to drop from bosses, and scrapped many legendaries (90 slots in my vault were previously used for year one legendaries).
I’ve also done most of my iron banner powerful gear bounties, done the scrapper ones and many other activities.
I started last week and have now got around 50.
I masterworked one gun to see the costs.
It seems that the people who played since the start of forsaken have an abundance of the cores, and cannot fathom how others have few cores.
The initial issue was that masterwork cores were for infusion. The solution was to change the name.
I use most of my cores to infuse because I don’t want to use gear which is blatantly bad to me.
I’d like them to be removed from infusion, however the reasons to keep them in infusion are very balanced. There will be bias.
So why don’t they just make an item specific to infusion only and give enhancement cores a better purpose, like reworking stats on weapons (not the final two stats such as outlaw and firefly, but instead the balance of the weapon).
Enhancement cores in infusion is the least problem this game has.
Have you heard something about rapid fire glitching?
I’m more inclined to embrace the usefulness of enhancement cores. They are meaningful and wanted because we use them to infuse, masterwork and potentially more. Running out is a problem—let’s put in more actives to earn enhancement cores.
• Patrols (50% chance of 1-2 cores).
• Completing Holiday/Special Event Weekly Bounties (3-5 cores)
• Medals (ex. Triple Kill / 15 motes deposited) earned in Crucible and Gambit have a chance to drop an enhancement core.
• Completing Nightfalls Strikes with the high score total met will grant the chance for 10-50!! enhancement cores per character, per week.
• ^Sparrow Heroic Arena . . (S.H.A.N*K*)^ / Infinite Forest / Faction Rallies. *redacted
• silver 😉
• Guided Raids and Guided Nightfalls will reward the Guides with “A Guardian’s Pride” enhancement core packages (x3), of which can be gifted to a player on the enemy team in Crucible or Gambit. Just select their name on the end game screen, send, and voila— “Package from [insert your name]“ rewarding thy frienemy with 10 glorious enhancement cores.
• All year 2 weapons in the Collections tab have a “Total Data Consumption” for each time that weapon has been deleted. Every 10th time a player deletes a weapon (Edge Transit), they receive a “Master Weapon Calibration Quest” [Use Edge Transit to kill 100 vex within 20 minutes from landing on Mercury]. Your reward: a random roll of that weapon, fully master worked and- if need be- worth a handful of enhancement cores and a quick restart on the 1st deletion.
