I used to play Destiny day and night. From Raids, Strikes, and Crucible I played all day and all night with all three of my characters. I took some time off for a good while and have just got back into the game 3 weeks ago. So far, I'm having fun again but I lack raiding (which I loved) due to trying to find a team that would explain the raid without getting frustrated. I'm more of a learner during the game than watching a tutorial on YT. When my friends and I would raid consistently on Destiny 1, we would help others who would either have never done the raid, or, have a low light level. Even if we've done the raid that week, we'll go through the app and find people to help. It seems as though those type of players don't exist anymore and I would love to get back to that myself.
So my question is, what would be the best way to get back into raiding? I would love to get more experienced to help others who need the help.

But if you're determined I'd say to watch some YouTube videos to understand mechanics and make sure you have the weapons that are currently popular.

Strongly suggest getting a raid team that you always do raids with. Lfg is filled with fully experienced players who are all doing sotp right now so it might be hard to find good teams for LW right now. Or with new raiders who a good chunk of then are very dishonest. You won’t get as frustrated with randoms. Might take a while to find one, in the process right now but it will help out long term for sure!

The Dreaded Venture sniper rifle is a nice high impact kinetic sniper that's very easy to use, there's a Bad Omens you can get from prestiging your Gambit rank a couple times that's basically a void Hunger of Crota, it has tracking and cluster bombs. But above all those is the Breakneck auto rifle which you get from completing 40 gambit matches with auto rifles, you can get the quest from the Drifter. There's also Escalation Protocol, which is the source for the Ikelos shotgun, one of the best energy weapons in the game. Escalation Protocol is on a five week rotation with a different wave 7 boss each time, only one of those five bosses drops exclusively the shotgun, two of them drop any of the three weapons. As for Exotics, you're going to want Whisper of the Worm (Black Hammer/Spindle). It's a bit complicated how you get it, but it's currently only available Fridays through Sundays, so you might want to look up a guide and get that done. Other good exotics are D.A.R.C.I, Tractor Cannon, and Sleeper Simulant (obtained via a quest on Mars). I don't remember what class you said you were, but Hunters will want Orpheus Rigs, Celestial Nighthawk, Shards of Galanor, or Raiden Flux. Warlocks will want Lunafaction Boots, Crown of Tempests, Skull of Dire Ahamkara, Geomag Stabilizers, Starfire Protocol, or Phoenix Protocol. Titans, probably Insurmountable Skullfort, Doomfang Pauldrons, or Hallowfire Heart (RIP Titan Exotics). Of the new subclasses, I would prioritize Way of a Thousand Cuts for Hunters, Attunement of Grace for Warlocks, and Code of the Commander for Titans. Hope this helps :)

Yea I hate to jump on the bandwagon here but you really made a bad choice. You should not have gotten back into this game especially when there are so many other games out there that are better. This game right now is at its lowest point ever. It's only has about 300k daily players. It's losing players daily by the hundreds and it's only going to keep getting worse. I hope you got forsaken and BA for free.

If you wanna go in completely blind, make your own fireteam and make sure they know you’re going blind. If you don’t care about going in blind, what some guides so you get a good idea of the encounters. I recommend Datto’s ones, they’re the ones I’ve used for every D2 raid. Bring a void cluster bomb rocket.

I've had pretty good luck with Guided Games for Last Wish(80-90% success, no problems), but you have to be trying to raid at peak times so you're not waiting for an hour(8pm est, 10pm est,12am est). Also you need to be higher level and have the weapons to do the strats(Ikelos SG, Sleeper, Whisper, Cluster bomb rocket (preferably void, for extra damage with Tractor cannon)) and the appropriate exotic armor for your character (Celestial Nighthawk, Lunafaction, Orpheus Rig). As well I prefer the written raid guides so I can re-read parts, but having it explained by a good team is the best way since you can ask questions. Although going into a raid blind is rude and shows a lack of effort necessary to complete the raid.

1 답변This forum isn't the place for that. Very toxic. A lot of anger. I would recommend researching some lfg apps, like discord. Find a good clan and go from there. This forum is, tense.

1 답변I used to raid too but when leviathan dropped I stopped raiding. Too much trouble dealing with people and then at times the raids would go on for a couple of hours. It’s a time commitment

1 답변Your observation that things have changed seems accurate to me as well. People get really short about teaching people new to a raid how to raid. The game is full of elitists now that don’t want to play with newbies. And that’s fine. It’s fair to want to protect your own time. But it does have some negative consequences for how the community interacts with itself. And it doesn’t help that raid mechanics have gotten significantly more finnicky and complex since d1. My advice would be to use the fire team mechanic on the app, and expect to spend more time than in the past in raids because you’ll be going in with other people like you. Don’t expect a completion the first time in. Be patient and learn. And don’t be afraid to hit up some videos for clarification.
