People up high can't agree on a policy, meaning the government is completely shut down. And the man in charge is trying to find a loophole to get the wall built... Ugh, sometimes I wish political parties were never coined as a concept...

4 답변25% of the federal government is either working for free right now or not working at all and not getting paid. The average American probably won't care until tax season. They'll probably start caring in 2 weeks when they don't get their tax returns.

I’m starting to think it comes down to race relations being at an all time low since the 60s, and the media has become overly sensationalist. Our elected representatives are also petty across the board. Economically we are doing fine, but no one cares because we look stupid for everything else. The next election cycle will make a big difference because I think the average American becomes more politically motivated and informed by the day.

Its actually not bad. The average American person is doing just fine atm, the international media can blow it our of proportion though. Yeah we got our issues, what country doesn't? Its just our issues are slightly over-exaggerated because we are kind of in the spotlight 24/7.

작성자: Ricochet 049 1/10/2019 12:53:43 PMAmerica’s problems seem bigger because it’s at the top and has everyone’s attention. If a professional messes up slightly it’s made bigger deal than if a amateur messes up big time. Let’s take Leonardo da Vinci as an example. The Mona Lisa has no eye brows. Big -blam!-ing deal. No one cares when a toddler paints an elephant that looks like depressed genitalia. Not saying America’s problems aren’t important, just pointing out it’s been doing better than most, and I’d rather have these problems than what other county have. If I were to start listing Australia’s issues I could make it look like a dumpster fire. But when it comes down to it you know Australia is not defined by those problems. Yet you’d judge America by it’s problems. Just something to think about.

작성자: Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds 1/10/2019 4:07:01 PMEvery major power has its rise and fall and its ups and downs. When systems have been in place for long enough, those that lack empathy and compassion for others will find a way to exploit it and exploit others using it. Humans are flawed and so are the systems we create for how we operate society. I think there are some major changes the US needs to make if it is to survive itself.
