Some of the books I'm going to read this month:
. The End of Faith: Religion, Terror, and the Future of Reason by Sam Harris
. A Universe from Nothing: Why There Is Something Rather than Nothing by Lawrence M. Krauss
. A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson
. Mortality by Christopher Hitchens(currently reading)
If anyone has any suggestions on what to read tell me. I like history, philosophy, and science books mainly. And some fantasy every now and then.

Lewis Lewis might not be your cup of tea judging by your current selection, but this is one of his more secular novels. It's a retro sci-fi tale that is surprisingly philosophical. Lewis does a great job exploring the nature of man. World War Z by Max Brooks Not "deep," but a fun read and probably the most plausible interpretation of a worldwide zombie apocalypse I've ever seen. It also explores the idea of how humans handle crisis.

There’s a lot of people here saying the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. I have a copy of it, got it from a used bookstore. Actually have the whole series. I kinda want a Don't Panic sticker to put on the case of my kindle. (it’s a kindle paperwhite, can only run books and sometimes cleverbot.com if the WiFi’s good)

1 답변작성자: Uncanny_Vale 12/18/2018 1:18:25 PMI’ve read A Universe From Nothing. It’s not bad but I’ve read better books on cosmology and quantum physics. If you like Sam Harris you should listen to his podcast “waking up with Sam Harris”. It covers some quite controversial topics and it’s sometimes worth a listen. I do find I disagree with a lot of what he says though. If you’re into popular science I would recommend the following: Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond - A book everyone should read. It’s about the reasons civilisation developed in some paces and not others. How climate and local plant/animal life in a region can radically change how a culture develops. Also check out The Third Chimpanzee by the same author. It’s about human evolution. The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins - About how our genes drive our behaviours to ensure their own survival and replication. The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene. An easy to understand book about string theory and quantum mechanics. Written for people that don’t know much about the subject. But it’s about 10 years old now so the science is probably out of date.
