It would work so well with all the assets already in D2 (enemy types, heroic modifiers, Prestige mode, PvP events, etc). There is no clear reason why they don't just put it in the game and I was really hoping that the Forge's would have been given the true Firefight treatment. Read through the wiki link if you don't know the Firefight mode or if you want to relive the good ol' days.
