Now this is coming from a D1 veteran. Playing Destiny has been my hobby for a few years.
So it’s sad for me to say this but playing D2 has become a chore. It wasn’t always that way.
In D1 I started playing on PS4 and after a year I also started playing on Xbox after Rise of Iron.
When I started on Xbox I played through everything on one character then on the other two characters I leveled them up to 400 just playing the crucible. I could play what I wanted and still be leveling up.
The milestones in D2 are a bad idea. I have to play 3 Gambit matches. I have to play three strikes. I have to play 5 crucible matches. I have to play the night fall. I have to do all the dreaming city stuff.
See where I’m going. I have to do those things or I won’t level up. Leveling up is important because you need to be a high enough level to play the raid.
What Black Armory did was expose this bad design. It was a very bad decision to block access to a dlc people paid for behind a level requirement to start.
This is why the community is angry. Me included. We have to play old content for a couple of weeks to start this.
Now I have to go do all those milestones to get high enough to play this dlc. That takes time. And I can’t spend that time leveling up by playing nothing but crucible or strikes. I got to do those milestones. This game has now become a chore instead of something fun. I already have a job.
I was also looking forward to new crucible maps and new strikes but none of that in this dlc.
Hey maybe I’ll get some new armor or weapons from the vendors. Nope. Only thing to do is chase some weapons and grind some more after grinding for three months to climb 220 points.
If this is the future of Destiny then this has got me considering not playing Destiny anymore. That is the first time I ever thought that.
Just thought I’d share this feedback with Bungie so they can understand why people are angry with this game and what they might consider changing in the future.

If you look at their Twitter, there are many people just as upset about nerfing the content for people like you. Just speak for yourself next time, and don't pretend to be a voice of many.

49 답변작성자: Blade 12/9/2018 2:41:07 PMI have zero desire to do anything, I don't want to do 5 crucible matches, I don't want to do 3 strikes, and I don't want to play 3 Gambit matches. I absolutely am 100% certain I don't want to go to the dreaming city, I've already spent hundreds of hours in this destination. I can't even begin to describe how upset I am that I can't even access the new content that I paid for in the annual pass. I am going to take my friend's advice and move on, there are far better games right now that actually deserve my time. I am done with this circus.

작성자: DoubleDragonMan 12/12/2018 5:09:51 AMI hear ya. Couldn;t have said it better myself. I was a D1 diehard, used to sherpa raids and have so much fun teaching new people. I tried so hard to get into D2. I stuck it out through the lousy CoO, and started to enjoy Foresaken for a bit, but the grind is just too much to keep up. this is now a game for two types of people, those who stream for cash, and those without jobs who se mommy and daddy pays for all their toys and annual passes (you know who you are). I just cannot compete with a bum who spends 20 hours a day getting all the good stuff, only to destroy me in Crucible or Gambit over and over, which means I cant get the good stuff too because I dont have loser friends without jobs to grind along with me. And dont get me started on this idiotic leveling with cores crap. Then there are the typical cheaters, which Bungie never handles. So tired of getting DDoSed in crucible competitive matches. So glad I didnt pay for BA, cause it would be weeks before I could even attempt it. I am just gonna go back to D1 and play some Wrath of The Machine with my Siva armored Hunter.
Which is why I told Bungie that this progression system was going to be a problem six months ago, and failing to listen to the community's negative feedback when they started rolling it out in "Warmind" was a bad mis-calculation. The problem is----while Bungie is filled with what seem to be really nice people----as an organization they can be arrogant and stubborn. For 4 years now we have been battling this attitude of "We're Bungie, we know best." The problem is that no one who was responsible for designing this system seems to be willing to accept that people don't like feeling controlled. Don't want to be forced to interact with parts of the game that they don't enjoy....and be punished (by withholding progression) if they refuse to comply. But instead you have Bungie---in this situation---putting their own goals of strong-arming the player into interacting with the whole game, above the PLAYER'S NEED TO ENJOY that interaction. Bungie has these overly-romantic notions of how games ""should"" be played that don't mesh with the reality of how people actually play THIS game. They want everyone to be an "omnivore"....and play the game as a unified whole. When the reality is that the vast majority of people strongly identifiy with only parts of the game....and only want to play the parts that they enjoy. If you force them to play the parts that they don't....they become resentful...and you eventually burn them out. Even in MY case----someone who IS an "omnivore" being forced to engage every part of the game every week gets TEDIOUS. Even I want the freedom to set aside the parts of the game that I'm getting a bit burned out on, without feeling penalized for doing so. Which helps to keep the game fresh and enjoyable for me...and keeps burnout at-bay. The problem is that Bungie's Investment Team is digging their heels in on this....and is just willfully deaf to the uniformly negative feedback. Unfortunately I think its going to have to take engagement numbers dropping before Bungie finally gives in on this issue.

I could make a few tweaks to this but, essentially, yes I agree. I quit about a month or two ago, i can't remember but it is a huge job. I hate gambit, i hate the state of crucible and the PVE activities are insanely monotonous. Everyday I wish it were still D1 during taken king/rise of iron era.

An echo of my own thoughts. A game where you chase a number that is often kept just out of reach by the micro-managers at bungie. I've been playing since February 2015, just after Dark Below dropped. Combining ps4, xbox 360 and xbox one time, I think I'm near 200 days played. And right now I'm looking for something else to fill my gaming time. I love this game, but I find myself staring at the destination screen wondering if I should bother doing the stuff that bungie says I HAVE to do, stuff that I don't want to do. Usually, the answer is no, but there's no point in doing any other activities, so I usually log out and do something else. Bungie, the progression system is a failure. The D1 system worked great. If you're worried that people will get through to max power too soon, make the game fun so we'll WANT to play it after we hit max power.

This is hopefully not the future of Destiny, at least not for the franchise as a whole. We are now way into the 2nd year of the game, and the reality is that Bungie just wanted to keep players somewhat entertained or busy at minimum cost, so most devs can start or continue working on Destiny 3. Timegates, arbitrarily long quest lines (kill 500 of that, 1000 of this etc..), a punishing economy and wave based pve content are just the cheapest way to inflate the longevity of the game. This approach was mostly accepted when Forsaken launched, because it offered a lot of content for Destiny standards on top of all these changes. But now they just tried to pull the same move a 2nd time, just without the actual content. And I don't think that this really sits well with most players. Bungie just can't maintain a live service game, they just stumble around and sometimes they get lucky with a DLC, but most of the time they will just disappoint over and over again, because they are not willing to continously put in the resources required to keep a healthy player base interested.

If this developer continues to "insist" on funnelling players into content they do not want to play and punish them if they resist, dissatisfaction with this game and dwindling numbers in the player base will continue. That is in my opinion going to happen and if the devs do not wake up and accept this, then so be it. I absolutely detest PVP while accepting the fact that others love it, both should have the advantage of progression and loot rewards equally. They win, I win, everybody wins and enjoys playing.
-
Milestones are definitely a bad idea. You're forced to play stuff you don't wanna do. They should have just stuck with the gradual grinding for light. That way, there's always a sense of progression. Just make certain activities drop exclusive loot rewards.
-
Destiny is far from being a chore now than every before. Playing ANY activity now will somehow contribute to getting a powerful reward, which increases your light level. Some activities don’t give as much of a boost whereas others give a significant amount. That along with the amount of prime engrams that drop, getting to max level is easier than it’s ever been. I got to 600 on my hunter last season on just prime engrams and random powerful that I wasn’t even going for but I got just for playing the game long before Black Armory. If this game is a “chore” for you, you must not enjoy any part of the game so why even play it?

작성자: Semper_Eadem77 12/11/2018 8:30:18 AMA great post, I too am a D1 day one player and Destiny has been a huge part of my spare time and really hadn't thought of it like that .... you are right D1 was nothing like this I wasn't dictated to about how I level up ..if that's the right word, it was fun and grinding ...this on the other hand does feel like a chore and I too have been distracted with other games lately AC Odyssey, Red Dead...maybe I'll get that great feeling again soon with playing it like I used to in D1 .....

1. you were looking forward to playing content bungie was and has been telling you woudl not be part of the dlc. That is your fault for not reading and understanding what you purchased. 2. bungie changed the game to have you play all of the game to progress not just parts of it. That is design, they want players to play everything. I think this dlc is definately showing people whether they like the game or not. Do they like how destiny is presented, how the game plays and all that goes into it. Many are finding they really don't and this is the last straw.. That isn't a bad thing. I wish you well in finding a game you can play for hours, weeks, months and years at a time and still enjoy it and have it not feel tedious and boring.

2 답변작성자: TeslaKnows 12/10/2018 1:43:41 PMI enjoy the chores. Nothing in life is free, and if everything was it would take the entire point out of living and satisfaction when you earn something. Destiny 2 is amazing in the state it's in right now, and I believe there is a bright future ahead for Bungo. If you don't enjoy playing don't play. If you're looking at everything as a grind it will become that. Just have fun and play the game. Aside from a few minor changes crucible needs Destiny 2 imo is the best it has ever been.

You've been playing the same game for over 4 years now. Ever think that its not a chore because its a bad game, maybe it's just as simple as you not being into the same game for so long? I joined Destiny in y3. So destiny has ALWAYS been a light level grind for me. (0 to 400 was a serious grind for me). I enjoyed the grind though, and I was disappointed when I was at max light for months and months, with every exotic, and every quest, and the raid completed way too soon during the vanilla D2 phase. I had nothing new to do for months with its far more casual friendly attitude. Now I can't keep up with all of the things to do and I'm far more satified. I still have luna to chase, I still have exotic quests to do (I still don't have malfeasance), I have breakneck to work on, I just got Loaded question, and I'm doing all of this "old stuff" while leveling up and getting raid and forge ready.... I'm able to do "old stuff" (which is still new to me), and get ready for new stuff at the same time. I go into gambit and I'm working on 3 things at once (breakneck, malfeasance quest drop, AND getting powerful or prime engrams)! or I'm in comp working on 3 things, or in the open world and working on 2 things. There has never been more to do in D2 and I am excited about this.

I played from reset last Tuesday and no lifed D2 until I was 633 on my Hunter, cleared the forges and beat the raid. I enjoyed every minute of it Thst said, I dont see how anyone else with a normal life could do that. I made a plan to do it cause I know its nerdy but Im getting tje jacket. ;) But I wont he doing it again any time soon.

I feel the same way. I played the crap out of D1, but D2 is constantly trying to force you to play certain activities in a certain way or you cannot progress. Even if I play as many milestones as I can in a week, I only gain about 5 power. So I have to spend all my limited play time only doing the milestones for 10 weeks to reach the new power cap. And by that point, it's time to raise the power again. They really ought to stop raising the power cap.
