Okay, so this Black Armory is a big secret right and before I get into this, I really liked the idea of this "expansion." Anyways, I just hopped on to check things out before my 2:20 class, and I was surprised to find that the Spider is an ally of Ada which is cool. What isn't cool and what doesn't make sense is the location of the Armory itself. Now I know it is hella convenient being in tower but it does not make sense. Let me explain.
First off, in the Vidoc, it is stated that the armory is a big secret kept sence the golden age. (correct me if I'm wrong). How can this be a secret for so long if the wall that the armory calls home was built well after the collapse? We literally saw a clip of Zavala and Ikora building the wall around the city. If this Armory is a secret they would have to know about it in order to build the wall. Thats the first problem with it's location.
The second is its proximity to the current tower and the door of the Armory itself. Suppose that they had no idea what the armory was or that they were oblivious during the creation of the wall, how in the hell do they not question the influx of supplies going to this location that is not even trying to be hidden other than a really suspicious door that GLOWS. On top of that, Ikora seems to be oblivious to the guardians walking out of a previously closed off door way with the most advanced weapons we've seen to date. Wouldn't you think they would get suspicious of this super secret weapon smiths that are literally neighbors to the vanguard itself taking in supplies and doing business with the Spider? How do they contact each other in secret? Did they also meet in secret? I'm at a loss for words, they all fell into the plot hole the writers made that's big enough to drive a bus through sideways.
TL;DR
The location of Black Armory makes no sense in terms of lore.
If anyone can come up with a good lore friendly explanation that mitigates all of my points (or any really) I would love to read them because I just don't get the logic here.
Edit: So another thing that I noticed about the armory is the three family banners outside the armory itself. These families make up the Black Armory itself and yet they are just out in the open for anyone to see. (Not sure if they are there before you actually gain access to the armory though, if that’s the case then disregard this edit lol).

My answer would be it's an offsite location. Not the main one. She possibly moved it there as a means of survival from outside sources like the Fallen or the Cabal. Plus, she could've rigged the whole place to explode should the Armory be compromised by those not invited. And finally, she may have moved the armory there and hid it with cloaking and holographic tech while the legion was still occupying the city. As Cayde put it in D1, "the best hiding spots are always in plain site"

5 답변I can see them not knowing it was there. There's a cabal-praising droid in the basement and a guy who has play dates with taken in a back alley. It seems like they don't exactly notice things.

5 답변I didn’t have time to play it today. But I saw the clip where Ada says “you don’t belong here, guardian” and then the guardian holds up the glowing hall pass and Ada says “oh I see. Welcome to the black armory”. Like what the -blam!- kind of lazy awful writing is that? My dog could have come up with a better story and he eats his own shit.

1 답변Love it, The fate of Humanity is on the line and once again we find we have been fighting with inferior weapons.... Just like when I call to cancel cable " oh, you've been a loyal customer for 10 years, don't leave... I can lower your payment by $99 and give you HBO for free" ....... then why didn't you do that from day one?

1 답변Yes, thank you! The Vanguard just conveniently set up right over the Black Armory. Ada is selling this stuff? To whom? If you read up on the Lore you'd know she does not like Lightbearers for a reason. Now it's all hunky dory? Just because Spider handed us that oversized hotel keycard? So. Many. Questions!

6 답변By Ada's comments, it seems to be more of a secret to Guardians. Plus there is yet another landing zone in that area, and the vault is not that extensive. So the space would be minimal, and any supplies could be smuggled in directly, away from prying eyes. And then in regards to the spider, there's likely a middleman of sorts.

6 답변There are multiple Black Armory vaults. The one in the tower is only the most recent one and it’s not even the main one.
