If you really want to get into it, the constitution does not apply to them until they enter the country. Even this only applies for the purposes of trials, and not other rights (hence Guantanamo Bay and other facilities like it existing). The US has never defined rights for non US citizens, and more specifically the ones who have never been to the US.
Not that you are wrong, but this is where we currently stand.
The Constitution doesn't apply to them even if they're in the country, it applies to the citizens of the US, and I'm pretty sure it applies to legal immigrants/the people who are working towards being citizens. as well

Not about them. The Constitution applies to US....and is a fundamental restraint upon the power of government itself in our system. Which is why the Trump Administration keeps getting its hand smacked whenever they try to do an end-run around it and govern by "Executive Order" (i.e. Royal Decree). These people have a right to apply for asylum under international law. Laws that we have agreed to abide by. We still reserve to right to DENY that application once it is submitted, and given its due process. But the Constitution doesn't allow the Government to arbitrarily PREVENT these people from applying under international law, simply because we have President who doesn't like brown people.

And that is PRECISELY why I say that the GOP doesn't stand for anything anymore. When they used to be one of the fiercest defenders of human rights abroad. You guys have sold your souls to the Devil, and you're not even aware of the fact that you've lost it.

Even bill Clinton used to agree with it. Obama agreed with it.

The government and by extension the gop and democratic party are supposed stand and serve the citizens of the US specifically, not everyone who wants to live within it's borders. The President is supposed to do that as well, which is something President Trump is doing exactly that. I'm all for admitting and letting people come to the US whether it's to become citizens or just stay for a predetermined time on a visa, but I want them to do it legally. When someone comes to the US they are subjecting themselves to our laws and Constitution, and I'm pretty sure that we have a law that says (I'm paraphrasing) that if someone wants to come then they must do it legally. Legally means coming through a legal point of entry and ask for permission to come and stay in the US and then wait a given amount of time for a court to get to there case then appear before the court for the judge to decide (as he/she is supposed to under our laws and Constitution) whether or not the person seeking to stay can be allowed to. As it stands we can't within any reasonability take anymore, our courts are backlogged, and there are still people who aren't here legally, and we don't know where in our country they are.
