Guardians have always had an emotional attachment to a few vendors back in destiny 1, namely master rahool, the cheapskate cryptarch, and xur, the tentacle faced bastard of the nine. These 2 vendors were both loved, and hated by the destiny community. These guys could give you everything you wanted, like when xur finally sold the ice breaker,(insert icebreaker clip) or when he sold the suros regime, or that famed week that was globally trending on every website, number 1 on reddit, that Xur sold the gjallarhorn. Or these two vendors would bring tears to your eyes because they had again disappointed you like when rahool turned your exotic engram into another lucky raspberry, or xur didn’t sell heavy ammo for over a MONTH. That level of attachment to vendors has completely been lost with destiny 2. Especially with xur, who has become a shell of his former self and has been basically forgotten by the entire playerbase. But the game has changed, and good exotics being sold probably isn’t the answer to xurs problem right now.
