Not sure if people have seen this or if it's happened to anybody else, but this just happened to a group I was in. Not sure if it's what caused it, but basically, one guy picked up the heart while his super was about to run out, then it chose him again and disappeared, then half of us died to darkness, and two of us (me and the guy who picked up the heart), it just stacked up forever and let us sprint to the end and he was able to slam it somehow finishing the encounter and allowing us to open the end chests. I dunno if people have seen this before or if it's happened to anyone else, nor exactly what caused it or if it's reproducible as we haven't tried to replicate exactly what seemed to have happened yet, but figured I'd go ahead and share this.
