Destiny 3 Has to Have Dedicated Servers
I’m posting this because I genuinely feel like I’m losing my mind playing comp. I just played a guy that was literally faster than any human being could react to. Like it was obvious this person’s console was receiving data faster than everyone else’s in the lobby.
Now I consider myself a fairly competent player. Before going and murdering my k/d for this Luna’s Howl quest I averaged around a 2.0 eff. But since I have been in comp boy oh boy the shenanigans I have seen.
Hunters have moon bounced and disappeared into orbit on Stomp33s, my shotgun will literally miss someone entirely at point blank range while simultaneously letting them kill me an instant later, my guns have stopped shooting as I’m pulling the trigger mid gunfight, unloaded Trust in faces only to watch them die a full 2 seconds later, the list goes on and on.
I say all that to say this. Bungie I swear to God on everything I love I’m not purchasing another Destiny game after this if it doesn’t have dedicated servers. I can’t... I -blam!-ing can’t do this again. I love this game. I love feeling like a space badass, but after playing Destiny since year one I still have no clue how truly good I am at this game. When I lose I’m not sure if it’s because I’m bad. And when I win I’m not sure it’s because I’m good. An individual’s connection to the host can completely alter a match that much.
I don’t have this problem in other games I know exactly how good I am in Overwatch. I know exactly how bad I am at twitchy shooters like Titanfall. You guys tried to make PvP into Overwatch, but missed because the game will never be taken seriously as an esport without having rock solid connections. Weapon and class balance not withstanding.
I know my little $60 bucks might not move the needle but I’m sure there are countless other players that feel the exact same way.

13 답변It may take you a while to get into the swing of things after the speed increase. Honestly I do not think this is a server issue. I am currently at mobility 3 and I can move near that of the old versions 9 and 10's. People were complaining that the game was too slow so they gave them what they asked for. Now a mobility hunter can move as though they are skating on butter, the upside is they are lacking in one of 2 areas. They will either come fast and weak, which means you are will be able to take more than them as they are banking on not getting hit, Or they will come at you fast and tough, this means they have one shot to kill you and if you EVER put them into a position to flee from anyone, have no fear in chasing them down, because their recovery is SHOT. If push comes to kick, I suggest taking a break from this and playing Call Of Duty WWII.... They move around 3 times as fast as Launch Destiny 2 and about .5 faster than the fastest Guardian here. This I can promise. You will speed up your minds reaction time and before you know it, you will be nailing hunter after hunter even while they try to dodge, because you will (SEE) them and be able to predict where they end up, even cloaked. Also, we are likely PLAYING Destiny 3 right now. They just continued it like we asked. There is a reason Forsaken was in the same format of D1 and D2, with passes and the like. They got the message loud and clear. Say thank you. Hahaha!

Esport that would be a dream! For that to happen, one hit bulshit shouldbe removed from the game l, less special/power ammo drops/briks , the super should take longer to gain , and that would be a start ! Destiny is a casual game and has a CASUAL pvp, thats why anyone with a broken mouse/controller or without her hands can kill, so dont expect dedicated server for that ! dosent bring any revenue ! But one thing u are rigth pvp servers are garbage for Pc or Console !

So i admittedly do not own D2, although i played D1 quite a lot, but just judging from the topic of this thread: Y'all are saying that Destiny 2 DOES NOT have dedicated servers???????!! hahahahahahahahahahahahaha............oh my god

The dude was moving around so fast (or at least appeared to be) that I don't even know how he could control his character. And on top of that he was using Luna's and the Chaperone. I love Crucible but that was one of those instances where you just say to yourself shit like this should just never happen. It wasn't just a matter of skill, the guy seemed to be moving faster than it is in anyway possible to move, and of course he also didn't take damage. I've also noticed that people who are supposedly better, like say 3500+ Glory or 2500+ elo tend to move around like this more often than others.

3 답변Unless Bungie clearly states Regional Dedicated Host Servers, I will not be buying it. If there is any indication of Peer to Peer or "Hybrid", they can stick it.

Just so everyone knows, people have been calling on games published by Activision to have dedicated servers since CoD2, and they’ve never done it. Why do you think that is? Why do you think Bungie is following suite? What do you think will make them change? Are you willing to do that? If not....who is actually to blame?

2 답변I believe bungie said dedicated servers would be too “difficult” because they would have to make all pve destinations have dedicated servers as well as pvp. Its complete bs.

It won't have servers and it's likely to release at or close to the same state D2 released. In D2 I didn't buy the base game, but I did buy the season pass. It somewhat had my attention. D3 I'm going to try to ignore anything that has to do with the game and won't buy anything. No servers no, solo egc, bad progression, bad matchmaking, time gated bullshit, I'm done.
