That was a cheese. Saying that clustering riven is the same thing as saying killing the Inverted spire boss by dealing all damage on him on the first floor is a cheese.

That doesn’t make it a cheese. A cheese is when you exploit certain mechanics/glitches that either skip the encounter entirely or make it loads easier. Because bungie didn’t make it so 3 people have to be on each side, it’s just optimal DPS.

You use the wipe mechanic to manipulate the fight to make it easier

That’s like saying that wiping on Aksis because you failed the challenge is cheesing the challenge mode because you’re using the wipe mechanic to manipulate it. Wiping would be a cheese if it had literally any effect on where Riven spawns, but it doesn’t.

Just because you aren't glitchng the game doesn't mean it is not a cheese. Most people would consider pushing atheon off the ledge a cheese. This is no different

Atheon falling off the edge in a way he was not intended to due to an issue in how he works is a glitch, the boss of the raid spawning is not. Wiping has literally 0 effect on where she spawns. You can wipe until she is in the right spot, but you don’t wipe because it will put her on the right side, you wipe so you can have another shot at seeing if she spawns on the right side. Where she spawns is completely dictated by RNG.
