Game is too hard...?

What is with people complaining about Forsaken being too hard or too much of a grind? Just because it’s not shoot a boss with 2 rockets and you win and get the best gun in the game people say it sucks? Invest your time in the strategy and game itself. Don’t be a limp dick and go oh I can’t just stand out in the open and get blasted? Whaaaat why not? Ohhhh Bungie shouldn’t be locking loot behind something I don’t want to play waaaaaaaaaaah. Get flipping good you noobs. I’m no elitist player with a 2.5kd in crucible or 1,000 raid finishes, but damn I don’t complain about things being tough. I figure things out. Jump, hide, use different weapons, save your super for better moments, etc. I’d rather a game I’ve spent hundreds on be tough. People have too short of attention spans to enjoy Destiny’s grind. Go play Fortnite. Just extremely tired of people complaining and complaining and complaining. Try different things before just asking for an easier path to something or a nerf of a gun. Edit: the post about me complaining about complainers, move along. It’s ironic, I get it. Venting my frustrations about a part of the community that “seemingly —MASSIVE GENERALIZATION” wants things handed to them. Stirring up conversation, not trying to be toxic folks.

      It's not too hard, the problem is everyone is not a streamer or it being their god damn job to play video games all day or a teenager. A lot of people have families and 9-5 jobs, so Bungo can cater to the streamers and the Destiny fireteam chat people is fine, put just expect the player base to fall cause people don't have the time. A video game is not a top priority in peoples lives when you have other responsibilities in life, It's not that big of a deal at least until you start running into even longer wait times cause everyone dipped out to games that respect their time. Not everyone has the luxury to play endless amounts of a game, is the point. Streamers can do that, teenagers can do that, IGN destiny fireteam chat can do that but the majority can not do that broski.

        The game isn't too hard content-wise. People are just getting frustrated. THIS is what happens when you have a loot-based game....and you THROTTLE progression like Bungie has been doing the last two DLCs. THIS is what happens when you target your progression to become a pain point for the people who are the outliers at the TOP of the engagement curve, rather than towards the average player. IOW, by the time you throttle progression for the guys playing 40-60 hours a week because they are streamer or someone with limited real world responsibilitesi (like a teenager)......you've now created a frustrating progression wall for the guy who is only playing 15-20 a week. ...and you've basically told the guy who can only play 4 or 5 hours a week to not bother to show up. Your participation in the game is not wanted nor appreciated. Because now he can't get anything done. The other problem is what Bungie has done with the Masterworks cores and the Bounty system is also starting to piss people off. The Core economy was deliberately shipped BROKEN in order to deplete the 1%'s store of them, and put Bungie back in control of the economy. But----once again----when you target the 1%, you break the game for everyone else So you have lots of average players and returning players who are getting mad because this system is interfering with the game's basic reward loop for them. They literally can't get the resources they need from the game in order to vertically progress with a reasonable loadout. The Bounty system---especially for clans----is highly restrictive, and is cutting off opportunities for play. IOW, the game is being over-controlled through the economy....and Bungie is being both heavy-handed and high-handed in their determination to FORCE the player base to play the game the way BUNGIE wants.... ....rather than the way the PLAYER wants. #MeaningfulChoices.

        • There are VERY valid and constructive criticism for a change on this post. Most people point out a problem and offer a reasonable solution or at the very least, explain why they/people have their issues with this game. Me on the other hand, I personally don’t care one way or the other. There are 2 games coming out. One in February and one in March. One game I know for a fact I will enjoy and dump many hours into. The other one, hoping for the best but it’s a brand new game so you never know. But regardless, this is NOT the only game I play which is probably why I really don’t care about the economy of the game, the raid, light level, how slow or fast the grind is, the exotic drop rate, prime engrams, the dreaming city, ascendant quest. The game is coming to halt for me, probably because I burned myself out (not Bungies fault), they made their game how they want and that’s it. I have a choice to play it or not play it. And pretty soon I’ll have a couple more options and that point, I’m sure I’ll switch between games as it helps with not getting burned out on one. But as far as the grind, the slow progression, what ever, Bungie got my money and maybe I did it didn’t get my monies worth, but it did occupy my time for a month and maybe for a couple more weeks. But come late winter, I’ll be on a game that I legit enjoy no matter what. The economy, (which is nearly unlimited) the weapons, the story, everything about it is enjoyable. Where playing Destiny has lost that joy and instead feels like a job. I already have one of those and need a game to be another one. I hope Destiny fans get back the feeling of enjoyment and that Bungie listens/caters to the MAJORITY of the fan base instead of the minority who are seen by more people because of YouTube. Think about it, if there was no YouTube, Destiny would be a completely different game for the average player.

          No one said anything about this game being too hard because it's not. The game is tedious. The game relies on time-gated content and bullet sponges, on top of esoteric or convoluted mechanics to get a buff just to harm the raid bosses. when you could just shoot them outright. The game heavily relies on artificial difficulty by inflating the power of enemies but not adding mechanics that the player must overcome either by memorizing or some other strategy to defeat them. The biggest enemy of this game is the monotony and repetition. I won't even get into the state of the Crucible. That shit is a laughing stock. Allowing players to spawn each time with Special Ammo for extremely powerful weapon classes? Top kekkity kek.

        • Don't stand in the open Lol? Everywhere is the out in the open atm. Enemies spawn out of every nook and cranny and unless you can get some range between you and them, which is extremely unlikely and pointless since an extremely few weapons can do anything in that range. Not to mention that 99% of boss rooms or enemies rooms are very much close quarters. Couple this with taken being literally everywhere and them being able to just spam abilities through walls till you move outta cover and run you down. Terrible argument. The game actively handicaps you in any engagement that isn't out in the open or close range.

              I might get people throwing rocks at me but i can't play destiny anymore as i don't have the time for the grind, back in destiny 2 vanilla the grind took nearly 20 hours and you could enjoy the high end content but not on this version so i had to uninstall it as i'm only looking for snacking and quick pace games. People are gonna yell at me too but the meta in destiny 2 vanilla was much more balanced as shotgun were not around, same for snipers, it was much more enjoyable. I know bungie wanted to reduce the skillgap but the actual state of the game made me not playing it anymore, i wich we could play vanilla destiny 2 as an options for those who want to experience the base version of the game for crucible only. Bungie hasn't been able to release a proper matchmaking system based on elo and making 6 stacks facing 6 stacks only, same for 2 stacks and 3 stacks, solo players shouldn't have to face teams, the pvp maps are designed for 4v4 and you can definetly feel it and crucible needs to be brought back to 4v4. I used to like destiny really hardcore but i just feel the joy to press the "play" button anymore sadly, maybe destiny 3 vanilla will be a bit more decent who knows ...

              • Who said the "game was too hard"? The game is lacking that this company only slowed things way the hell down as they did with The Taken King when it released. They are using the same tactics but went a little further with forsaken because there isn't going to be another expansion for another year. So they will use the $30 updates as their get me by until next year when the new expansion is released. Then Bungie will do the exact same with that first expansion next year dragging things out until they give an update like ROI. Rinse and repeat seems to be the one thing this company is really good at. Being too hard isn't the issue here and trust me, it never has been when it comes to D2 lol.

                • I love what bungie has done with forsaken. That being said, trying to marginalize players who feel differently than I do about forsaken because they don't share the same view as I do is counter productive. It's a microcasm of the current political climate in the US where it is always us against them, never trying to find a middle ground. You are part of the problem.

                  • Hard? No. Most difficulties in this game are artificial. Look at the raid for example. Recommended 550 with the final encounter being 580. But if u r at that lvl then it’s significantly less “difficult”. There’s a difference between hard and dull. Grinding isn’t hard, it’s just dull. And Forsaken is the least rewarding Destiny has been since vanilla D1. There is very little reward for time put in

                  • Destiny is grind and I think that has gone too far the wrong way. Where I have lost interest in this game is progression. You ability to get better and be able to take on better activities for better gear to increase your light level is dictated by RNG. I had had weeks where I've had rubbish RNG and not advanced any light or maybe 1-2 because I get gear for the same slot with every drop. It's frustrating and not worth my time.

                    • strange. now i quit d2 a few weeks after launch and will never come back, i firmly believe this game cannot be fixed. dad with 3 young kids, married, work full time, house the works. i had no issue grinding to endgame in no time regardless of the expansion on just an hour or so a day. you cant tell me that d2 content is more challenging than vog was when the game launched. honestly, the raids have all been pretty casual. just a bunch of dads spread out all over the country messing around.

                      The content is easy. The grind....... that was ungodly dull and extremely tedious. Would've been an outstanding DLC if it wasn't for the next level amount of grind... that is what most people are deeming as hard.......... but in more of a eff it demeanor. Some grind is good........ a metric fudge ton is not. I do find it amusing your actual name is MNSNOWMAN89. You have a whopping 1 leviathan raid clear and have never attempted any end game content after that. Kind of ironic you are lecturing people on content that you don't even participate in. 🤔

                      • The leveling is handled very poorly in this game. There are way too -blam!-ing many soft caps, and the RNG isn't structured at all so a lot of people get very streaky luck. One day I turned in 19 prime/powerful engrams, I was 525 which means all or at least most of them should have helped me. Only 4 of them did, because I kept getting shit that I didnt need. 10 of the 19 were secondaries, my highest level gear piece at the time by far. On the flip side some people get everything they need in one go no problem. A good RNG system mitigates those kinds of streaks to keep the experiance more uniform across all players.

                          • I agree that that people on here complain more than is probably warranted; but the rest I'm gonna have to disagree with. Chipping away at a stone wall with a spoon isn't difficult, but it is tedious. Sure, you might get a sense of reward once you do finally break through that wall; but then you're left asking yourself "Could there have been a more efficient way I could have accomplished this task?". Similarly, getting strong gear in the game isn't difficult, seeing as a majority of the powerful gear is within reach of the average player, but it is tedious to get. You're basically doing the same activities over and over each week for gear that will give you a slight boost in your light level (gear that you will most likely dismantle next week when you get stronger gear). It pretty much turns the game into a chore, where once you've completed the powerful gear bounties of that activity you're pretty much done for the day. No point continuing to do the activities cause they most likely won't give you anything useful. Then there's exotics, which to get one is pure RNG. You can do an entire Nightfall and not get an exotic while killing some random major on patrol nets you an exotic. Now, I'm fine with exotics being as rare as they are currently. That's how they should be. But seeing as I haven't gotten a single Y2 exotic and the fact that the last 3 exotics I did get were not only Y1 exotics, but Y1 exotics that I ALREADY HAD (two of them were actually in my inventory when I got them)... yeah that's not exactly gonna keep me motivated to keep playing. I'm fine with a game that is difficult, I'm fine with a game that has grind. But if I'm going to grind, then I want to be able to know that I'm grinding towards something that I actually want, not just a number.

                            • I wouldn't say it's hard, bit it's pretty grindy and therefore dependent on how much time you have to level up. Saying that, I do think there is too much whining about this, unless you are in a hurry to level up for the raid then I don't understand why people are getting their knickers in a twist.
