So sick of people saying they earned their gear. Unless you got gear that was tied to a quest line or you purchased it from a vendor you didn't earn anything. RNG straight up means you got your stuff at RANDOM.
So you snobs, convice me you "earned" your randomly unlocked gear.

18 답변I remember the end of year 1 d1, when xur sold gally for the second time. The forums were full of people complaining that the gally shouldn't be sold by xur. Claiming people should "earn" their gallys. Completely forgetting they got theirs from a random drop which has fuk all to do with "earning" anything. If you've paid your money for the game, you've earned it's content

1 답변No one gives a -blam!- about convincing you of anything. Your opinions and your validation have absolutely no value to anyone but you.

2 답변But grinding requires the completion of one or more challenges, hence rendering the reward an item you earned.

3 답변What if the random drop is only available through select activities such as Nightfalls or Raids?

5 답변You clearly don’t understand micro and macro states. The universe around us is dominated by random energy exchanges on a microscopic scale however the various combinations of these different states tend to result in predictable macroscopic events. Earning gear in a rng system works in a similar way. There is some probability of acquiring some exotic with specific triggers. The more frequently that these events are completed, the more likely that an exotic is acquired. It is still earning the reward, just not a Dirac delta function like the quest methodology you’re referring to. In many cases the amount of effort exceed a one and done type of quest. You just sound jealous and are coming across as whiny and petty.

4 답변While this feels like bait, I’ll take a stab at it because I’m bored and waiting for something... RNG is supposed to be akin to a roll of the dice, right? If that’s true, then it’s also true that it’s only a matter of time before the number your looking for comes up. Following that logic, people are paying their time to satisfy the cost above. Time they worked at making room for in their schedules, as there’s plenty else to do. I assume that’s what they mean. They earned their drops by earning the time that pays the cost of waiting for your lucky drop. Maybe I’m wrong... it’s my 2 cents

4 답변So someone who bought their Ghorn from Xur week 2 earned it meanwhile someone who did Raids, Nightfall’s and every activity they possibly could for years to get a potential drop didn’t earn theirs? If you obtained it by playing the game you earned it.
