Does anyone else feel that the content in Forsaken is locked behind unrealistic light levels? The game has almost been out a solid month and the majority of players I know haven't even tried the raid because either;
A. Their light level is too low because their drops have been sh*te
B. Their mates' light level is too low because their drops have been sh*ite
C. Most people don't have spare time to take advantage of early gear exploits
Bungie - "Here's the new raid. Oh, BTW you have to be light 550 at least. But, just grind for 3 weeks and you'll be able to give it a shot! Maybe.."
Us - "Oh yeah, what's Destiny without a grind, right?
Bungie - "yeah don't worry, mate. We'll add in dungeons that give you sweet gear. But you have to be almost hard-cap to even have a shot at completing it.."
Us - "But I still need to be raid read..."
Bungie - "Shhhh, Sweet Prince. Do not threat.."
Us - "You're not my Dad. You'll never replace him.."
Bungie - "The Malfeasance quest will start dropping this week from a Gambit Primeval!!"
Us - "Yeeeeeeeahhhhhh!"
Bungie - "But it never spawns... Oh, and you'll have to be light 580 to complete one of the quest steps.."
Us - "You didn't come to my dance recital.."
Can I get an amen?
I'm not a big fan of the new tiered powerful gear system as it doesn't reward one's time as much as before but despite that, unless those activities you mention were limited time events (which they aren't) then it shouldn't matter if you can do them now or say a month from now. If someone gets the malfeasance quest now but isn't close enough to do that quest step then they can simply wait until they get there. While I would have liked to have done the Shattered Throne dungeon this week, I wasn't at the level to be effective for the end of it so I'll just have to wait the 3 weeks when it will be back. Not a big deal.
Same with the raid...it's not going away so people should be able to deal with it if they have to wait a bit longer than they wanted to.
