Does anyone else feel that the content in Forsaken is locked behind unrealistic light levels? The game has almost been out a solid month and the majority of players I know haven't even tried the raid because either;
A. Their light level is too low because their drops have been sh*te
B. Their mates' light level is too low because their drops have been sh*ite
C. Most people don't have spare time to take advantage of early gear exploits
Bungie - "Here's the new raid. Oh, BTW you have to be light 550 at least. But, just grind for 3 weeks and you'll be able to give it a shot! Maybe.."
Us - "Oh yeah, what's Destiny without a grind, right?
Bungie - "yeah don't worry, mate. We'll add in dungeons that give you sweet gear. But you have to be almost hard-cap to even have a shot at completing it.."
Us - "But I still need to be raid read..."
Bungie - "Shhhh, Sweet Prince. Do not threat.."
Us - "You're not my Dad. You'll never replace him.."
Bungie - "The Malfeasance quest will start dropping this week from a Gambit Primeval!!"
Us - "Yeeeeeeeahhhhhh!"
Bungie - "But it never spawns... Oh, and you'll have to be light 580 to complete one of the quest steps.."
Us - "You didn't come to my dance recital.."
Can I get an amen?

That is almost exactly how I feel about all this! There is also the fact it is almost required to have a dedicated clan/fireteam to do even half the high-level endgame; LFGing for stuff is a massive RNG factor in itself, either getting good, patient people or ashhats! It's almost so bad that it just doesn't feel worth it to play anymore, always feeling like you're way behind on the curve no matter if you've put in 5 hours or 50.

No offense but I think the little destiny grind is to much for you probably should play something else. If you a day 1 forsaken player no excuse to below 550 unless you aren't really into the game if that's the case you maybe shouldn't be complaining or trying to change the game 🤔

If you’re not at least mid 570’s a month after the expansion launched then you’re probably not the kind of player who should even be trying to raid, patrol is the place for goons like that. That way they can go on their merry way killing the blights and adds in the blight public event wondering why it randomly procs the heroic.

1 답변Wait currently locked behind an unrewarding grind??? Are we talking about ALL of the new forsaken exotics? Still haven’t seen one...

2 답변If you don’t like it bro stop playing I’m a day 1 forsaken and only 535, to be fair I’m a solo player to but either except it or move on, this game is a MMORPG now you HAVE to have people playing with you to advance now. I’ll admit I do miss D1 where you weren’t forced to squad up and you could get that high it would just take ya a bit longer

3 답변These are endgame activities, and not everyone will reach endgame at the same time, which is fine You can still clear the raid, when your level is higher and do the shattered throne the next go around. So what's the problem? Are you mad people who play more have more stuff? Play at your pace and you'll finish it all eventually. Y2 seems to be great for balancing hardcore and casual gamers alike. Except the infusion system, and exotic drop rates, which should be changed soon.

작성자: シOblivionシ 10/3/2018 7:18:09 AMI actually like the grind and progression mode as it makes me think about the game rather than just running around mindlessly killing stuff. Remember d1 for ever 29. That shit was tuff and dropping an exotic was like winning the lottery and if you didn’t raid you were stuck at 29. Happy days. So far the only problem I have had is with edge transit.

4 답변I personally like the grind. Gives me goals to achieve instead of burning through content too quickly.

8 답변작성자: GrundleBeans 10/2/2018 7:18:18 PMNo. Just because you’re not at the same level or higher than an activity in the first few weeks doesn’t mean you can’t or won’t be later, or that leveling has to be quicker. This isn’t a race and being able to blow through every endgame activity with ease within the first few weeks is what was wrong with the game previously. When you have a goal to get to, you have a reason to play. If you’re easily and quickly above every goal then the game would be very boring with nothing keeping you around.

24 답변I’m 572.9 as of this post. No raid, barely do Petra bounties. How? Prime engrams. No cheese, simply doing public events before starting the climb. That dropped me prime engrams galore. Don’t pick them up, let them go to the postmaster. Hours and hours of public events got me to 50 before I ever started the campaign. Then and only then did I decrypt and use primes. I do not infuse, simply hold and climb. What weapon I like, I vault so I am not tempted to waste cores. When I reach 600, very soon, I will look at ‘likes’. Until then, all are just rungs in a ladder to max power. Takes time, but, too fast is no fun either...

15 답변작성자: cesar0s 10/1/2018 9:37:55 PMContent "locked" behind a grind.... Well now I think I actually have heard the dumbest thing all day. I've said it a thousand times....most of you have no clue how to play an RPG.

2 답변It's bungies way of making you think there's alot more content in the game than there actually is. Also it makes you feel like there's always stuff to do since they lock up a large portion of it behind a wall that only those who play super hardcore can get to. People who have had 600 light since last week or so probably already feel accomplished and pretty much done with the dlc. Others (most people) still feel they are missing out on a large chunk of the dlc. Personally I really don't care. My only issue is with the master work cores being required to upgrade gear and the low drop rate of the cores when dismantling legendaries. Everything else is fine and makes the game at least feel like there's stuff to do. I only really mention the above not because I was annoyed but because people should realize why certain things are the way they are and why they feel the way they do. Bungie simply did something smart and manipulated how players viewed the content by holding them back intentionally. Not entirely a bad thing tho.

I'm not a big fan of the new tiered powerful gear system as it doesn't reward one's time as much as before but despite that, unless those activities you mention were limited time events (which they aren't) then it shouldn't matter if you can do them now or say a month from now. If someone gets the malfeasance quest now but isn't close enough to do that quest step then they can simply wait until they get there. While I would have liked to have done the Shattered Throne dungeon this week, I wasn't at the level to be effective for the end of it so I'll just have to wait the 3 weeks when it will be back. Not a big deal. Same with the raid...it's not going away so people should be able to deal with it if they have to wait a bit longer than they wanted to.

Completed Shattered Throne at 565 power with teammates who were about the same level. Then we did the Wish Ender Quest. It was excruciating, but we persevered and got it done. It’s not that content is locked away, but that power matters more - it’s not some arbitrary number you see in your menu now. You can complete these activities when you are significantly below the recommended power, or you can wait till you are closer to the power requirements to have an easier time. This is a player choice. The power grind can be very frustrating with bad RNG and I’ve always thought that power progression should be based more on a combination of time invested and level of content completed. Some of my friends have had terrible luck with RNG and are 15-20 power levels behind me. I don’t like to see that. There were so many requests to make power matter and provide more challenging content and not make progression simply a matter of running some heroic public events. This time last year I had 3 characters fully upgraded and max power and not a whole lot to do apart from grinding for the one exotic I didn’t have yet. It wasn’t especially satisfying. Right now I’ve 1 character at 571, one at 544 and one I haven’t even touched. If anything, it can feel like there’s too much to do, but that’s a better complaint than having little worth doing. It’s not perfect right now and I can get how it’s frustrating for people, but I think the game is in a much healthier state overall and that’s a good thing
