I can tell you why. He was the only character with depth. His death allowed for us to see the contrast between Zavala and Ikora, to see Petra’s loyalty to the Queen, to see how much Uldren desired Mara’s approval. That’s why. We’ll see more character development as future releases come into play. Also, yeah it’s a cash grab. That’s literally what everything on the market is.

Zavala: Dull leader Ikora: Dull memtor Petra: Loyal woman to Queen. Trust us shes a badass although we never see it. There is nothing to them. Nothing cookiw cutter at its best. What a waste of a universe.

Someone wasn’t paying attention. Zavala is a steadfast leader who keeps his eyes on the City, even when a friend’s life was taken. Ikora is a hothead and let’s personal things come before duty. Petra is not only loyal to her Queen but to her people as well, which is why she is so enraged when she finally gets to Uldren. I think you’re just salty because they killed the guy you have as a profile pic.

He had development... IN THE GRIMOIRE. He was, and still is an archetype, at least Zavala and Ikora have some in game development. The thing is with Cayde, he was a crutch. I’m not denying he was the most well developed character, but others characters need to develop as well. His death progressed the story of the franchise in a big way, and in my eyes that’s what needed to happen.

I'm not I can already tell. Trust me. Wjen you hammer in a death so hard and then try and make perople forget about it. It will be ignored. Thays how they did it. 'Click bait' with death that is all for nothing. And it does matter what I think. I am entitled to think its my right by you saying it dosent matter implies my opinion is lesser than yours. That is simply not true. I mearlu realised this before others. And with time it will be realised. When the next DLC roles arround it will be to kill a cosmic god and all this 'depth' forced depth might O add will go a miss. The basic fundimentals of story telling are negleted. If you kill a character especially one such as Cayde there better be plot relvance but there isnt its pure 'Click bait'
-
I never said your opinion was lesser. I proved you wrong on plot development. Had Cayde not died we probably wouldn’t have gotten involved with Uldren. You may think it’s clickbait, but if you actually get past your emotional barriers you’ll find that his death did develop the plot.

But it didnt. It was click bait for something else. It simply got money to tell another story. Thats all it did a waste. A waste of a character. And i can guarentee that it wont be aknowledged nor will it impact further along the line. There is a lack of basic story understanding. And the idea of killong a character. It should be to aerve a prupose but it dosent.
