Speaking in terms of Lore and Canon, how is a Guardians Class decided?
Like... Does Ghost just go “Hmm... Space Wizard!” Or “Yep, you’ll punch stuff.” Or is there something more to it?
WHO... WHAT... DECIDED ZAVALA WAS EVEN A MORALLY GOOD CHOICE FOR A TITAN.
Also, just cause I can.
Comment what your main G is, and why you chose that class. If there’s a story behind your Guardian, let’s here that too!
Edit: Just wanna thank every single one of you that either liked or commented on this post.
I wasn’t expect to get the reception I did, let alone to have it put in trending.

I was reborn as a hunter, though originally I was just a lost Ordinator of the Tribunal that ended up in a new world one with out a wheel, one without ALMSIVI's love. I know this because I had a journal with me, I remembered one thing though, I must abandon my body for a new one thus I went to Clovis Bray and told my ghost to make me an exo. My goal was to eliminate any "daedra" though there were none around, instead I found Hive, using my trusty short blade I killed a wizard and two knights and using what little magic I had left I used chain lighting on any remaining hive. Later I would realize that my ambition, my wanting for the perfect kill, and my aggressive behavior made me what the inhabitants of the City called a Gunslinger. Though now I see my self as a Ordinator of Law and of ALMSIVI, not a guardian of the traveler, but a heretic of a false god that only brought more death then it could bring life. I regret making the decision to stay with the City after the Red War, but at least now I can leave one city for another, the city of Mara Sov, queen of the Awoken and god of both Light and Dark, she acts just as Almelaxia did. I miss Vvardenfell so much O Nerevar mine

I think that in the beginning the first Risen were given the powers of the light, but had no clue how to use them, the Ghosts were all new too and had no idea, they could just grant these newly reborn the power of the light but it was up to the wielder to ultimately decide how it would be used. Would they augment their physical strength for a powerful punch? augment their speed and agility allowing them to stab a combat knife into foes with a huge amount of force? (most likely just a nearby sharp object in these early days) Or just ball up this energy and throw it at enemies as a powerful blast? These instinctive decisions early on could be the foundation to forming the Guardian classes, with like minded groups gathering and experimenting with their powers. Actually I think this'd be an awesome series to see as an animated netflix style series.

24 답변작성자: Bliss 9/16/2018 7:00:07 PMIt’s all based on personality from your previous life If you were a little bitch that hid all the time you were reborn as a titan. If you wore different dresses you become a warlock. If you were a badass fighter that knew martial arts, how to use firearms and fight then you were reborn as a hunter.

4 답변Void warlock is my main. Love it. Since D1. Then titans, they take me a while to get use to. But i enjoy them. I detest hunters though, everything about them annoy me.

I am a hunter In my heart i am a bladedancer, the best feeling ever is when the arc energy flows in your body and then you have that arc blade, i feel powerful with that, i feel that i could destroy gods with that... and i did. I am an explorer, i love to go where no one has ever gone but and even in places really dangerous like the hellmouth and in the black garden but alone, in silence. When the red legion attacked i was on the edz against some fallen and when i tried to summon my arc blade i couldn't so i escaped them. When i finally got my arc energy back i tried to use it but the staff didn't feel as powerful as the blade so i ended up being a nightstalker and when, after cayde's death i got the void blades... those, those felt really powerful but they were different, they were harder to control than the arc

I think it’s based on a series of personality traits and desires. I also believe the “classes” are not set in stone.
looking at you drifter
Each guardian has different priorities that shape them, then they shape the light and fall under a “class”. My guardian is a hunter because staying and defending one place only keeps humanity stagnate (safe yes, and the titans are invaluable in protecting humanity) and knowledge without practical application is useless (although there are many warlocks who put their learning to good use). My guardian is a hunter because he fills the role between the two. Because he recognizes that things need to be done the wrong way for the right results (occasionally) and that sometimes thinking and researching can be taken too far. Sometimes you need impetuous action. But I will say that you need all 3 classes to work together.

4 답변I think it’s more innate. They are reborn with Light and it manifests itself then. I don’t think there has been any mention of someone switching class. I can only think of one cross class ability use, warlock Felwinter doing a striker knee but with Void power. He was taught it by a Titan. So perhaps abilities aren’t set in stone but I’d class is more attune to someone’s innate nature.

The general impression I got was that technically the Light could be manifested however, but the Vanguard codified it all up and divided it into the rigid disciplines (and then folks like the Sunbreakers, Osiris, and other renegades went off and made up their own disciplines). One of my haphazard suggestions to turn Light Level into actual progression was spending points to unlock abilities from each class tree. So if you had max level you'd have every possible ability available, but stuff would be tuned to need 1/3 of max, which would still be a full tree in one discipline.

I have been using a Hunter since Destiny 1 year 1 as my main class. I never really had one defined subclass until the Taken King, where I only used Nightstalker once that subclass came out. I enjoyed the speed I had, the jumping, and the subclass (at the time on Gunslinger and Arcstrider existed for Hunters). I think Nightstalker is great because of the Bow and easier to use Invisibility. Especially in D1 when you could turn others invisible using the melee grenade. Now in D1, with the Orpheus Rig on, I generate my super almost instantly after using it and give my teammates a bunch of orbs too. I did start off with a Warlock in the D1 Beta and then went to a Hunter later in the beta. The exploding Throwing Knives got me hooked on Hunters. And the Cloaks too were great. Exo Hunter all the way.

I was initially going to be a Warlock but when it came time to choose I went with a Titan. Something about them made them seem more than just the tank class. In real life I’d probably be reborn as a Hunter.
Saint-14 pretty much solidified my love for Titans after head butting a Kell to death.
What they should of done was allow us to choose our class when we got to the Tower. Basically each class is an Order that would "teach" us. Lore wise this makes more sense than suddenly waking up and going Oh Look I'm A Warlock.
-
It's either: 1. based on personality traits of the Guardian (be it their first life or post-resurrection). 2. The ghost explains everything and the Guardian get's to choose before they learn how to use their abilities. Or 3. Pure luck I main a hunter, his name is Next, his fireteam includes My other guardians from D1 (each of the other classes) and one of them died when Ghaul blocked the light of the Traveler. There's a lot more to the story than that but I don't have all week to explain it.

작성자: bobIin the goblin 9/17/2018 5:12:33 AMI play warlock because i like the way the class feels in general, mostly the voidwalker (the New tree is the funnest yet imo) Otherwise top tree reminds me most of what i liked in d1 about voidwalker. I play warlocks very aggresively and usually barge right in there which is why d1 voidwalker was so great for me, as it had constant regen in y3 (and late y2)

1 답변This was great. I wasn’t expecting nearly as much response as I got. Thanks everyone! In terms of my little Zavala remark, I meant that in a purely comedic sense aimed at his decision NOT to pursue Uldren after Cayde’s demise. As for the last half of the post, in regards to which class was chosen and why. D1, I took the role of a Titan because back then I would play in a group with two other friends who were respectively a Hunter and a Warlock. I’d always gone with the big bulky tank option with any game and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love punching stuff? The role of being a defender has always called to me, so choosing a Titan only felt natural.
