Depends on what kind of a player you are. Forsaken is geared toward the hardcore dedicated players. The grind is slow going and exotics are nearly non-existant. Random rolls are back so if you liked how D1 was structured thats a plus. Infusion cost is high. In fact prices for a lot of things are high. If you are a casual player id say you're fine holding off for a bit. If you play a few hours a week then you arent gonna be missing much by starting late. Xur isnt gonna sell a new exotic for a while. And after a couple hours of gameplay you probably wont have any less exotics than someone who has spent dozen of hours. It is nice to see lore in the game now. So if you enjoy reading the lore then its good. Basically its worth it if you are a hardcore player. Not so much if you are casual.

If you love d2 then you will absolutely love forsaken, and if you loved d1 you will absolutely love forsaken. So much to do, beefy campaign, the mystery and search for things is back, random rolls make every legendary drop interesting, both weapons and armor, and the list goes on! SO GOOD!

Well worth purchasing. It is so close to being a great game, so close... They blended a lot of D1 things into Forsaken and lots of new things to do and obtain and I know some have warned you already about, "Exotics rarely dropping", maybe that's an issue for you but I like to actually work for my exotics and not have them handed out like candy on Halloween lol I say if you have the extra money even if it's just for the base game, go for it...

For the amount of content that’s still being figured out, forsaken is worth the purchase. It’s a grind for sure, random rolls are fun, and the weapon slots make stuff interesting (I know everyone gets the last two for free) but if you love destiny, this feels much more like destiny 1 than 2. It’s a major step in the right direction. The only thing that I have to call bungie out on is the amount of stuff they brought back (armor, guns, etc). In a looter shooter, I would expect atleast 95% new. It’s not. Which is a bummer. But random rolls make old guns feel new.

I only have about a third of an opinion. I bought it because I liked the weapon slot changes and the general quality of life stuff. I'm only at midgame though. Barely out of the campaign. The story is pretty solid, about as much as it ever has been. The campaign was actually very fun with hunting down Barons. They are each unique and feel like actual developed villains. At least, more than we've ever had. Bows are fun. The quests, Bounties, economy, materials, mods, weapon system, all that seems like it's headed in a great direction. PvE seems fun again, and PvP is in the best place it's been since D2's launch. (In my opinion anyway.) Gambit is really nice, but matchmaking and connections are hell right now. What I've seen so far is really good and worth the buy. However, you knew there would be a "but". So here it is. We've not seen the full endgame yet, which is where a game like this thrives. Sure there's the dreaming city and random rolls to chase, exotics to grind. But endgame to me is the day to day push to max light and includes the highest tier stuff. The raid has yet to drop. The meta has yet to fully settle. I'm saying this because when D2 first dropped, we all thought it was, pretty solid. Then we reached endgame. Then we saw the DLC. Then we saw what was left to offer after completion. So I'd say you have two choices. If the campaign and short game is stuff that satisfies you, and if you were satisfied with D2 at launch, then buy it. It's worth it. But if you're more interested in the long game, then I'd honestly take no one's advice and wait to see what there is in about a month. Because it's still in the honeymoon stage honestly.

The game still has LOTS of problems and has basically jut now started where it should have been a year ago so their are lots if updates needed to make this game on par with OG destiny at the end of its life span. I would recommend you come back and check the state of the game in October after the game has had some form of updates and tweeks to flesh out the new mechanics they added that are extremely bare bones and cause alot of good but harm to the player base as well. Btw a good example is that as of reference right now you can not select specific game modes you want to play. Thats just one with much more problems behind its back but to keep it short thats just one of manny problems that this game still has and problems introduced with the new update that break the game. BTW 3 months from now the game will most likely be on heavy discount so thats also an option. And if you are looking for a game spider-man pS4 is the game you should buy right nowZ

If you love D2 already; I’d say yes. But be prepared for: More Grind. More Loot. Faster PvP. New areas to explore. And Post Launch bugs. The grind feels meaningful and the loot feels special due to random rolls; because now my 15th Better Devils MAY have better perks on it than my first. I went on hiatus during CoO, played sparingly during the beginning of Warmind; and came back for Forsaken. Loving it.
