Usually, by now we would have had the full court press in terms of ad blitz, commercials, trailers, reveal streams.
Less than a month to go until Warmind, and we've had none of that, no hype, barely spoke about it beyond the twab.
Maybe, just maybe, they've learned not to overhype, and let the product speak for itself.
If so, that must mean either they're pretty confident its good and will stand on its own merits.
Or they know its subpar and are trying to not get torn apart for hyping something they know will not satisfy the audience.
Wonder which scenario plays out, guess we'll see.

3 답변Disagree. I just think they're licking their wounds from the community uprising during the marketing run for Curse of Osiris, and have opted to take a much lower key approach. At least until they've won back a measure of community trust and goodwill. Which they dont' have right now.

2 답변i think it's because they've understood the community is toxic and no matter what they do it will be criticized so they might as well not care whether they reveal or not

IMO it’s because they most likely know that the DLC is going to be equally as disappointing as the last one, and they would rather keep telling us they are fixing the game than hyped up ANYTHING that we have to pay for at this point. Or they want to surprise us with a decent/good DLC by again not hyping us up whatsoever.

Not hyping it because they know we will be disappointed as over 4 months isn’t enough time for bungie to make changes needed to the dlc. OR Bungie aren’t hyping it because they have managed to do what other gaming companies do and make changes in a decent amount of time and this dlc could be decent so it’s a nice surprise for us. More than likely bungie will start the massive hype as late as possible before release this is building more hype than actually showing stuff that we won’t like.

Most people already left but are willing to play the dlc since so many bought the season pass. I’m not even trying it good or bad unless my friends draw me in but I wouldn’t be surprised if they learned something by now. They’re clearly -blam!- as a whole but even a -blam!- learns not to touch the stove eventually

18 답변Why hype it? Every single dlc, update or hotfix since D1 release has been met with people tearing them apart. Justified? Maybe occasionally. But the same people that ripped into them over taken king are now saying how amazing it was. The same people that loved this game that much, they just wanted balance in pvp have now left because the pvp they asked for is now trash No point wasting money on advertising for this community of snowflakes. They deserve nothing

3 답변Unless I'm just misremembering, they only started hyping Curse of Osiris about 2 weeks before launch. If that's correct, and they hold to the pattern, then we should see marketing pick up next week. They might start the marketing with this week's TWAB on Thursday night, that way the weekend is full of ads, but who knows?

I think they are underselling it because most of the content in “Warmind” was probably built before Destiny 2 came out ( and they could collect feedback from the community ). They know that content ( number of story missions, quality of writing, number of Strikes and Raid Lair ) wise, “Warmind” isn’t going impress the community. At this point and stage, it’s what quality of life improvements are coming with “Warmind” that will matter more. So instead of focusing on the DLC itself, Bungie has probably changed tactics and is concentrating on more on communicating how Destiny 2 is evolving.

8 답변There is no reason for them to hype it up imo. The people who will be playing it already bought it with the pre-order. Plus youtubers like that dbag Houndish are already over hyping it before it has even released.
