Well before I begin, this is probably not 100% lore, but I don’t see a science destiny channel on theses forums, so If enough people tell me to move this away from lore I will, because I think it’s only semi lore. But anyways, let’s begin with the science.
Today we will be talking about the hive. Theoretically they could make a actual boat out of our moon. Well they could make it float in water if they actually found a water source big enough. To explain I need to use basic and easy science to explain. Also almost of my numbers I got from the internet, so this is probably all wrong.
Anyhow, what we need to know is how to calculate density. M/V=D or mass over volume equals density, mass being the amount of matter a object is made of and volume is how much space it takes up. Your weight is just a measurement of gravitational Pull and has nothing to do with what we are doing. Anyways, If a object floats in a liquid, there density has to be less that that liquid. The higher the mass and the lower the volume, the less likely the substance would float and the higher the density. The higher the volume and the lower the mass, the more likely the object is to float and have less density. That’s how the titanic floated. It was huge, but inside it was hollow, so it had a higher volume than its mass, causing it to float
Anyways if the hive wanted there boat moon to float in water, because why not. That could be one big troop transport ship. But anyways the hives moon boat have to have a density less that 1g/cm3, which is waters density. Believe it or not, the moons density is 3.34g/cm3. The moon is very large and not hollow, so that’s why it’s mass is larger than its volume so it’s density is higher. An there for it can’t float in water.
But now let’s go back to the world of destiny, and not our real world. So if the hive really want to have a moon boat, it needs to be almost completely hollow. So they have to constantly dig and dig tunnels for long periods of time underground. No one can do that, right? Well the hive have been digging tunnels for a long time on the moon. For a long time people have been wondering what the tunnels where for but I know now. They where building a boat.
I guess theses theoretical hive have taken the phrase “I think we need a bigger boat” a little to far. But hey that’s just a theory, a scientific lore theory, and thanks for watching. Oh and please tell me if my science is wrong.

1 답변Can you see if you could theoretically move the moon like a space ship. I’m only in 8th grade so if I try to figure it out I’m gonna forget way to much.

1 답변Question: if they could effectively make a boat out of the moon, what use would it have? A beachhead on Earth in the ocean? And since it would be almost hollow, wouldn’t Rasputin be able to pierce right through it?

Ever play the 2002 remake of Defender?
Do you like flying around planets and in space? Good. You like customizing weapon and ability loadouts for a good number of fighters that range from a sluggish flying tank to crazy fast interceptor with paper armor? Good. Do you like defense and escort missions? Too bad, you're the one that wanted to play a game called Defender.
Know how the story ends? Humanity weaponizes the Moon to destroy Earth. In short, you spend the campaign being push to the outer system colonies until you find a way to organize and fight back. Once you find "the way," you fight your way back through the system to reclaim Earth. When you get to Earth, you start your big push only to find that it's too late: Earth is beyond saving. What happens then? You take the biggest ship left in your fleet, strap it to the Moon, and push the Moon into Earth.
