Is there a reason many Autorifles out range basically all scout rifles?
Am I the only one who is bothered by the range most auto rifles have over most scout rifles? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

The Matador is your explanation. Largest amount of damage coupled w/ greatest shotgun range. The easiest fix would have been to reduce range & increase spread, but NOPE. How do you expect these people to win without their crutch weapons?

Uriel's Gift says it all my fellow guardian lol I can only speculate it's because bungie couldn't balance a turd on a 10ft wide board? They probably thought since scouts ruled D1 for so long that with D2 they would make certain AR's be multi purpose weapons lol
