Good evening everybody! This is Aofos coming to you alive from-! From.. Er.. Celica, didn’t you say we were heading to Ikaruga? Where are we?
Celica: “We’re on our way to Ikaruga, silly!”
I don’t recognize this at all, though, are you sure-
Celica: “Trust me, I know where we’re going! In fact, there’s a shortcut just up this way!”
Take a trip to Ikaruga, they said. It’ll be fun, they said. Hire Celica as a tour guide, they said. She knows her way around, they said. Ugh, last time I listen to “they”. Looks like I’ll be walking for a while.. Oh, but don’t worry! That won’t get in the way of our not-at-all regularly scheduled programming!
If I walked up to a random gamer, and asked what mechanics they’d want in a perfect game, there’d be a lot of similarities. Open world, probably. Most people like guns, so let’s throw some of those in there. Lots of gore, because people like seeing that for some reason. Fishing. Fishing is in every game, so it must be popular.
But you know, I don’t think I’d like that game much. And surely, I’m not the only one. We all have at least one opinion that goes against the majority vote, and it’s those opinions this thread is about! Let’s all voice our hate for fishing!
Maybe you don’t want a open world [insert franchise here] game, like everyone else, or maybe the time travel mechanic in Titanfall 2, and Dishonored 2 isn’t all that appealing to you. Maybe you don’t like fishing! I know I don’t like fishing!
Tl;dr? Here’s my point!
Popular game mechanics and/or ideas you dislike?
My answer:
Just to be clear; I hate fishing. A lot.
But besides that, I’m also not the biggest fan of open world games. Linear games (imo) just tend to have better designed areas, and often times, better stories as well.
1 답변작성자: pValue2010 1/15/2018 12:30:05 PMMundane tasks as content fillers. I don't want to spend my time in a game collecting flowers, chopping wood, or some other minimum wage task that I get to simulate pro bono. Not simulating real world physics well. For example, if you throw a grenade from a warthog, its projection will be that if you were standing still. AN OBJECT IN MOTION STAYS IN MOTION, BUNGIE

3 답변작성자: Tobito_TheGod 1/12/2018 10:16:57 PMDefinitely with you on fishing. Especially in games where there isn't any real reason for there to be fishing. Looking at you Big the Cat and Prince Noctis. I also hate treasure hunting in games. Specifically when it's forced on you. As someone who hates looking for things in real life, doing it in game just annoys me. Which points me back to Sonic Adventure with Knuckles and Rouge. Quick time events in games that rarely even have them throughout the game. During cutscenes i generally either set my controller down, or just not have both hands on the controlled. So it becomes a mad scramble when a button prompt comes up from nowhere.

5 답변Weapon durability. I straight up hate it sometimes. If done right (Fallout) it actually can be something you can manage well. If done wrong (my least favourite 3D Zelda game: BotW), it can be really annoying, Especially when a sword can break with like, 5 swings.

3 답변작성자: ElGuapo General 1/14/2018 6:55:00 PMThe witcher 3 and warframe. Edit, oops I read that as what popular games are you not a fan of. So now knowing what the actual topic is I’m gonna say randomized perks.

3 답변Shitty story telling. It seems like more and more games are trying so hard to be “innovative” and story telling is secondary. Have a shitty story? I get bored in 15 minutes and regret my purchase.

3 답변I don't like weapon degredation mechanics. Hated it in Fallout 3, loathed and despised it in Fallout NV. Was so glad it was taken out in Fallout 4.

1 답변작성자: Rhynerd 1/14/2018 9:22:02 AMYou know how shooters with an aim down sight system will make it so the gun is less accurate if you don’t aim down the sights? It typically gets annoying to the point where you can sight somebody up from your hip at any range and still miss them if you don’t take the extra time to shoulder the weapon. This is especially blatant in some shooters where firing a sniper rifle without looking down the scope could make the round almost go sideways once it leaves the rifle.

2 답변One hit melee from front in shooters. I can't stand it unless you sacrifice a weapon. It feels really cheap to me , especially in really fast movement shooters like Titanfall.

2 답변작성자: OdinsKnight101 1/13/2018 11:46:29 PMDon't know if it's popular, just somthing I want to get of my chest.
The exploits that come with 'waiting for days and things happen that you obviously exploit' type ordeal, It's a challenge to summarize but I don't like that these exist and can be easily exploited. For example: Skyrim, oh that shop has run out of money and can't sell anymore? Easy just 'rest' a few days and Walla, full inventory! Dragons Dogma as well, all you need to do, Get to grand Soren, obtain the Port crystal and make your way to 'Barta cregs' camp area. Place the port crystal in the camp, wait till knight, head outside and to the left and kill the infinite spawning skellingtons. Day time he stops summoning but just 'wait' 4 days and he'll respawn and repeat the exploit with ease, till you are level 80. I get they're single player and nobody really cares what you do but they feel cheap and I wish they where not even exploitable this way.
