No everyone jumped on the bungie hate bandwagon, this expansion is larger than its tdb predecessor

TDB had its own full set of raid weapons and armor. Not just ornaments and a couple weapons like the raid lair now. Each vendor in the tower also had a whole new set of weapons and armor to grind for too, so CoO does not have more content. There was way more to grind for in TDB. Just take a second to remember how great the raid weapons were from TDB. Hunger of Crota, Black Hammer and Fang of Ir Yut to name a few. Great guns that mostly blow the raid weapons we have now out of the water. Man, that makes me want Black Hammer (the infinite ammo one) back. At least one sniper would be usable again.

Longer story doesn’t equate more content. At least, not for me. To me, story in Destiny is just fluff. Lots of weapons and armor to grind for that have a meaningful impact on gameplay (raid perks for example) is what I think of as content. Masterworks are definitely a step in the right direction in this regard. And, on to the Infinite Forest. Unfortunately, it really feels like a missed opportunity here. There’s a HUGE amount of potential for replayability in the IF, but right now it’s just limited to adventures. Not trying to argue, all this is just my opinion.

Embarrassment to the franchise?!?! Destiny 2 is an improvement compared to vanilla Destiny. I could not even play vanilla Destiny when it first came out because of how shitty it was, no story, no content on release, and left out so many cool features that was promised from before the game was released. Destiny 2 has a story, more content, and better gameplay IMO. I hate the way that the game is still blocked behind expansions but I am comparing both games when they first released and Destiny 2 is better in every way.

They NEVER said it was a reboot due to fan feedback once. They literally said they were going for a more casual/wider audience and that some people wouldnt like the new direction but they were willing to take that risk.
-
Yes becauee D1 was also terrible but for different reasons. No one asked them to remove all challenge and grind from the game, dumb down all systems and make loot inconsequential junk. This was all done to make the game as casual as possible, not appease the hardcore players who kept the game alive despite 3 years of lies and BS from bungo.

You do realize the second they put a slight grind in d2 everyone moaned and complained that they had to grind? You need to face the facts that they did build this game to what the community wanted not what you specifically wanted
-
Again false. The people on forums are a TINY fraction of their playerbase. They literally said that very few people stuck around for end game and only half of those did a raid. That's a fraction of a fraction of their customers who stuck around. This was NOT done for fans period. They did this for profits. They acknowledged that their decisions were a risk to the existing playerbase and they don't care. Activision wants another COD franchise to try and keep people around who are leaving that series so that's what destiny has turned into. Challengeless, lowest common denominator FPS. Also people didnt hate grinding, they hated the terrible mundane grinding and brutal RNG in the first game. They wouldn't have kept around 600-800k people around for 3 years if the community hated grinding.
-
Not false actually you must just have ignored the posts here that not only brought back the grind but then complained about it, this may be a fraction of the community yet you do realize that this is where most the decisions come from right? Because this happens to be bungies forums

So basically you are willing to overlook EVERYTHING bungie said to fit your cognitive bias for being pro bungie. You also completely missed my point about grinding. MOST of the complaints are NOT about grinding itself. It's about BORING grinding and a purposefully convoluted system and lack of incentives to grind. Also you comment about being one of the few that didnt jump on the hate bandwagon....so essentially you are saying that the majority of the vocal community and critics were just riding the hate training. There is a GOOD reason Osiris has terrible reviews across the board. My question is why are you (a paying customer) willing to accept such low effort, mediocre content for your money from a company (who is not your friend and doesn't care if you stop playing tomorrow)?

Anybody asked for no 6v6? People asked for private matches to be removed from the sequel? We asked for no strike specific loot? We asked that this gear may not be infusable beyond 3 seasons' power level? I believe your statement isn't entirely accurate. Obviously there are dozens of examples, I thought I'd stop there to show the point.
