Does Anyone Actually Like This Game Besides Me?

I Have played this on and off over the years and the way the community has become is laughable. People complain about cash shops yet, if you do the activities in game you can get the bright engrams to get them. *Is that not the point of the game even if you do need a little help from Rngesus* People complain when you have to pay for DLC content which to me is no different then paying for an expansion *WoW* Comes to mind. Swtor you pay a sub fee if you want to unlock certain aspects of the game. They may not be as big but your also not paying 60 dollars. I have recently switched to the PC and while it is not the best game in the world I do have fun doing strikes with my friends, grinding out patrols and events.

  • I enjoy it but do wish the bright engrams stuff was dialled back a bit we should be able to earn ghost ships and sparrows in game like we use to from end game activities plus the drop rates for the bright engrams stuff sucks I don’t know just seemed better before but anyway back to playing the game every chance I get

    • The expansions in WoW were insanely large compared to these so called, "expansions". Curse of Osiris should be called a reduction rather than expansion. This was a pathetic move by Bungie.

    • I love Destiny but they need to put more effort into actual playable content with actual desirable rewards especially if were gonna stick with fixed rolls. They are focusing to much on eververse and weaving it throughout the game and this whole cosmetic grind is not the way to go. I want to have a world where I feel like there is always a new challenge and good usable gear and weapons to play for. There should be a hoarde mode with leaderboards and high level rewards like weapons, exotics and unique armor sets. Strikes should have there own loot pools and raids should have exotic weapons like D1 had. Totally revamp patrol missions cuz they are absolutely useless and boring. Have spy missions and defense missions that grant rewards. Have heroic adventures on all planets and make lost sectors more like archons forge with there own loot pools. Expand mod and masterworks and give more substantial bonuses. The cosmetic things are an after thought and should not be the main event!

    • Yes, thousands of people enjoy the game. No one is stopping us from enjoying the game, even if its objectively bad. You can have fun, i do too, but that doesn't mean we can't complain about the (and lets be honest) multitude of flaws this game has. I think some people are missing the point that you can want the game to improve and argue it should be better than it is while enjoying other parts of it. My example is: Was the Curse Of Osiris good? No, not really, it was short, didn't add much content outside of the MTX store. But did i enjoy the raid lair? Hell yeah! It's one of the best raid encounters in my opinion to date. I can still enjoy playing it while objectively looking at other part of the game that are in dire need of imrpovment.

    • I am enjoying it. I suspect most of the folks griping about it want random rolls back ... and I do not miss those at all. They rewarded people who had enough time on their hands to run a strike 1,000 times to get a weapon that would dominate in PVP. I like PVP weapons being balanced, but those obsessive l33t folks are pretty salty about it.

      • It's a decent game. It could be a lot better. It should be a lot better, considering all that transpired and changed during Destiny 1. The game has pretty much been a solid step backwards from all that. I'd rather go back and play D1 strikes and raids again than do anything at all in D2 these days.

      • I really enjoy the game, could it be better? Sure but I enjoy the content it has and feel like I’ve gotten my money’s worth already. My biggest problem is I’m a hoarder, my vault is constantly full of items I do not wish to discard.

      • Woah woah there...Completely different from WoW at significant levels. The primary two that jump out is that (1)even if you didn't get the expansion you weren't suddenly barred from doing old activities as long as you still were able to meet the same old requirements and (2) they were far more aggressive with the ban-hammer on aspects such as "cheating". If I wasted more time I could point out a few from how balancing was based on a more piecemeal solution to how Eververse is in a way a disguised "pay to win" where you can get silver to get chances at engrams that are extremely powerful verses leveling them up and the throttling then and expanding of the exp required now only still amounts to a "pay to get it now" verses trying a very long and hard time for the same item. If someone didn't pay for CoO under your analogy, strikes and other material not exclusive to the DLC would still be accessible. Likewise Trials and Crucible would have better reporting statistics on banned players. That is the significant difference really: if I didn't play cataclysm for WoW I just didn't get any items associated with it and I didn't have access to the new lands and raids/dungeons. I could however access the ones I could before and that is the reversal of how Bungie approached it. There's also the grander scheme that you seem to miss: this is "Destiny 2" not "Destiny 1"; players expected them to significantly sort their sh*t and act and release something that players as a whole could respect after 3 years. They instead made questionable decisions, have very little imagination with how players reacted to their decision and threw away the whole lore of Destiny as if it never mattered if it was the Destiny universe and treated it as disposable rather than material that could supplement the game universe. Much like how some gamers prefer Fallout New Vegas > Fallout 4, at least the biggest citation for many defenders of the latter was they did new stuff, added to the universe and did what they did well. Was it buggy? Yes! Was it not as graphically impressive as players hoped? Yes, it was still using Fallout 3 and New Vegas graphics! Buuuut they did a ton of new stuff and gave a ton of content for the price they asked for with a quality storyline and doing something unprecedented with Settlement building. Look at Destiny 2 and it feels like it was released as more backwards game of Destiny 1 with a smidge of egotistic narcicism: why select your own PvP when we will tell you what to do! why have randoms fight randoms and teams fight teams in crucible when its better to have a full fireteam crush randoms to teach people they need to join clans or else! why have mods/perks for god roll's or good rolls when we can force everyone to except the same weapons and perks thereby ensuring when something like Iron Banner comes out, everyone will use MIDA! Why have exotics that are overwhelming when you can make them underwhelming and, thus, make the TTK in PvE longer, PvP longer and it feels like your doing more in the game when in fact its just the time! And all of these old zones, they're gone * PERIOD * like they never existed or mattered much like the game lore! Oh and we'll destory all of your old stuff in D2 and somehow make sure when you get them back again when possible its as weak as before. I think a simple feedback dinner with any group of players would've easily whipped out the worse ideas before anything got coded or committed too. Players may have been unhappy with D1 but they were often times for legit reasons with storyline being #1. Enjoying the game and pointing out the serious flaws aren't mutually exclusive: a ton of us enjoyed D1 despite its flaws, but it tends to be less receptive and received when you release a followup for the same franchise and it has far less than its predecessor and moves backwards in more ways than people expected. Not every sequel is successful but this is one of the few where they almost showed no interest in demonstrating what they learned in D1 at all.

        I honestly really enjoy this game, sure It has a couple of problems here and there, but its still quite enjoyable. The is absolutly beautiful (especialy the Pleasure gardens) and it has some good encounters too. The raid lair is short but fun, crucible is decent, though there are way to many dups.

      • I enjoy the game. I have not been playing any other game since I got this a few months ago. I want to play other games, but I also want to play this and feel that there is always something for me to strive to get. Definitely has issues, but I still enjoy it.

      • It’s fun. I enjoy it. I put a lot of time into it and plan on a lot more. You can always find reasons to hate something. It’s not perfect but 60 bucks really isn’t that much money. I’m actually surprised games don’t start at 100 now. So a little fun for 60? I’m happy with that.

      • I enjoy it hust wish there was more of it and had the random roll grind return I liked not knowing when a weapon dropped if it was an instant dismantle or not. Dawning armor looks great after the poor vanilla gear ssdly its limited time only but guves something to grind for again at least.

      • Base game’s better then the first year and a half of D1. But I’m not going to lie, I’m a bit more then disappointed with Curse of Osiris. Still playing, though.

Obviously, you are not the [b]only[/b] person who likes the game 2. Microtransactions done right aren't an issue. 2a. See the predatory strategies EA has used for FIFA, BF and BF2. As well as the patents by Activision for practices to manipulate gamers to buy microtransactions. 3. So things like the raid ornaments, that [b]should[/b] be in, oh...the [b]RAID[/b] are in Eververse. Why are items like exotic ghost shells, exotic Sparrows, etc, in the cash shop instead of being in the loot pool for Nightfall, Raid and Trials? 4. There is a massive difference between WOW to expansions and the CoO. Let's look at them; WOW expansions add entire new classes. Cataclysm for a example - [b]3800[/b] new quests, 2 continents revamped entirely, [b]5[/b] new raids, an entire new skill added just to name a few changes. Okay, let's look at COO; 3-5 hour (8 missions) campaign. 2 strikes (which are reused from the campaign), the mini raid. Hmmmmm, seems a bit different between the two... SWTOR, another bad comparison for you. You don't need to pay the subscription fee to play it at all. All the he content up to their latest is available. It is easy to earn credits in-game, criminally easy. With those credits you can get the few QoL needed to put you on par with subscriptions, but not need to be paying the monthly. So, let's look at the numbers; SWTOR is $14.99/mo. But it isn't needed to play and have fun. WOW is $70 for the base game. A comparison could be the Vatican (.44km) vs Russia (6.6 million sq miles) in size of content. You tell me if COO is really comparable in content size vs WOW expansions.
